RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the owners of certain real property adjacent to the city limits have filed with the
City of Lubbock a petition requesting the annexation of said real property by the City of
Lubbock (the "Petition"), with a copy of the Petition attached to and made a part of this
resolution as "Exhibit A"; and
WHEREAS, the real property that is the subject of the Petition (the "Property") is:
approximately 315.954 acres of vacant land; without residents; contiguous to the city limits;
located within an area generally bounded by 1301h Street on the north, Avenue P on the east,
146th Street on the south, and Avenue U on the west; and, legally described and depicted in
the attached "Exhibit A"; and
WHEREAS, the City Council heard arguments for and against the annexation of the
Property that is subject to the Petition at a public hearing at its regularly scheduled meeting
conducted on the eleventh (1 lth) day of January, 2018; and NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT, after hearing the Petition and the arguments for and against the
annexation of the Property that is subject to the Petition, the City Council finds that the
granting of the Petition is in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Lubbock and does
authorize the Mayor to grant the Petition.
SECTION 2. THAT, the Planning Department of the City of Lubbock is hereby directed to
draft an ordinance and all related documents required to effectuate the annexation of the
Property that is the subject of the Petition.

TO THE MAYOR OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
The undersigned owners of the hereinafter described tract of land, which is
vacant and without residents, or on which fewer than three qualified voters reside,
hereby [if applicable: waive the requirement to be offered a development agreement
pursuant to Section 43.035, and] petition your honorable Body to extend the present city
limits so as to include as part of the City of Lubbock, Texas, the following described
territory, to wit:
See attached SURVEY OF A 315.954 ACRE TRACT OF LAND IN THE EAST HALF OF
SECTION 16, BLOCK E, G.C. & S.F RR. CO. SURVEY, ABSTRACT NO'S, 1178 & 117S
LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS
We certify that the above described tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the City
of Lubbock, Texas, is not more than one-half mile in width [only limited by Local
Government Code Section 43.028], and that this petition is signed and duly
acknowledged by each and every person having an interest in said land.
