WHEREAS, the City Commission has been urged by petition of the owners of thF tract hereinafter described to annex and include 6id arebL within the cor- porate limits of the City of Lubbock, and the City Commission finds that said area is in line of development, growth and expansion being experienced by the City; that annexation of said area to the City of Lubbock will fie in the pubii.c interest, and the City Commission is authorized to anneL�bbock; said area which is adjacent to and abuts the corporate limits of the City of THEREFORE,. B.E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That the following described area abuttinf the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit: BEGINNING at a point lying on the present city limits line as r described in Ordinance No. 949 and being the Northwest corner ,. of Sunset Heights Addition, an addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, and lying in the present intersection of 42d Street and Peoria Avenue; THENCE East along the North line of said Sunset Heights Addi- tion, being the present city limits line, a distance of 1217.96 feet to the Northeast corner of said Sunset Heights Addition; THENCE South along the East line of Sunset Heights Addition a I distance of 1395■ 2 feet to the Southeast corner of said Sunset Heights Addition; THENCE West along the South line of Sunset Heights Addition a distance of 1217.9E feet to the Southwest corner of said Sunset Heights Addition; • THENCE North along the West line of Sunset Heights Addition adistance of 1395.2 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, and containing thirty --nine (39) acres more or less, BE, and the same is hereby annexed and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily newspaper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one (1) time and shall not be thereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed after such publication, and if finally passed in its present form, the boundary limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area, terri- tory and extension described in Section 1 (One) of this Ordinance. 4 y, AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
