REQUEST FOR RECONSIDERATION OF PETITION
FOR ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY TO
THE CITY OF LUBBOCK
TO: The Honorable City Commission
City of Lubbock
Lubbock County, Texas
Reference is made to the Petition for Annexation of certain
Property to the City of Lubbock, filed by Standard Building Com-
pany shortly before January 22, 1953, and considered by this
Honorable Commission at its last meeting of January 22.
Standard Building Company respectfully requests that the Com-
mission reconsider said Petition in so far as it seeks annexation
of the second and third tracts. And in support of such Petition,
the following additional information is submitted:
1. Standard Building Company has expressed its willingness to
dedicate a 120 foot right-of-way for the Slide Road; this was done
at the request of the City Engineer.
2. Standard Building Company has no intention of attempting a
simultaneous development in full of all of the second and third
tracts described in the original Petition. For example, it will be
1955 before we would expect sewerage and water for the second tract.
In the year 1953 we anticipate maximum development to call for sew-
erage and water extensions not more than 400 feet East of the Slide
Road. It is understood that the main sewerage and water lines bor-
dering on the subject property will not be completed before October,
1953. Thus, though houses may be erected on the subject property
before October, 1953, such houses would.not be occupied until the
sewerage and water facilities were completed.
Thus, we submit that the expense to City of Lubbock for the fs-
cal year 1953, resulting from the annexation of the second and third
tracts, would not be of great consequence.
WHEREFORE, your petitioner prays that the Honorable City Commis-
sion reconsider the original Petition, and annex the second and third
tracts described therein. And your petitioner withdraws its request
for annexation of the first tract.
Respectfully submitted,
