WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the area hereinafter described C'elerhnne is in line of development, growth and expansion being experienced by the City Co; of Lubbock, that its annexation has been requested, and the Commission further Rash off finds that annexation of the described area will be in the best interest of ffice Public health, morals, safety and general welfare, and the Commission is ' authorized, to annex the same under those Charter provisions; THEREFORE, 31.d.g.lns_r . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: f SECTION 1. All that certain tract or parcel of land situated in the East half of Section lb, Block "A", in Lubbock County, State of Texas, more partic- ularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the City Limits of the City of Lubbock, as established by Ordinance No. 1503, said paint being the intersection of the North line of the proposed Marshall Street of the proposed Marnels Industrial Addi- tion and the center line of the proposed Avenue S. distant 1519.3 feet West and 2676.9 feet North of the Southeast corner of said Section 16; THENCE North, along the center line of said proposed Avenue i S and parallel with the East line of said Section lb, a dis- tance of 2603.1 feet to the Forth line of said Section lb; THENCE East, along said North line of Section 16, a distance of 786.41 feet to the West line of the Panhandle and Santa Fe railway Company main track right-of-way litre; THENCE South, along said West line of said Railway,Company right-of-way, a distance of 2603.1 feet to the North line of said proposed Marshall Street and the City Limits of the City of Lubbock as established by said Ordinance No.`1503; THENCE West along said North line of proposed Marshall Street and the City Limits as established by Ordinance No. 1503, a ' distance of 793.6 feet to the POINT OF BEG10IFG. Containing 47.21 acres more or less. BE, and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock. 4— SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily news- paper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one (1) time, and shall not be reafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed such publication, and if finally passed in its present form, the bound- ary li of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area, territory ,d extension described in Section 1 (One) of this Ordinance.
