ORDINANCE NO. 7361
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AN AREA OF LAND TO THE CITY OF LUB-
OCK, WHICH AREA IS DESCRIBED HEREIN AND IS ADJACENT TO AND
BUTS THE EXISTING CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS;
ROVIDING FOR CORRECTION OF CITY MAP TO INCLUDE THIS ADDITION-
L TERRITORY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
UBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be in the best
terest of the citizens of the City of Lubbock and also the best interest of the
tizens of the area described hereinbelow, to annex such area to the City of
zbbock: NOW THEREFORE:
E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the area of land described herein, which abuts and is
acent to the existing corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, Texas, BE
l the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of
City of Lubbock, %xas. Such area is described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limits line,
as established by City of Lubbock Ordinance No. 6201,
said point being 150 feet South and 660 feet East of the
Northwest corner of Section 9, Block "E";
THENCE South along the present City Limits boundary a
distance of 5790 feet, more or less, to a point which is
660 feet South and 660 feet East of the Northwest corner
of Section 10, Block "E";
THENCE East 2130 feet, more or less, to a point which
is 660 feet South and 150 feet East of the Northwest corner
of the Northeast quarter of Section 10, Block "E";
THENCE North approximately 5790 feet to a point in the
existing City Limits line, as established by Ordinance
2535, which is 150 feet South and 150 feet East of the
Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of Section 9,
Block "E ";
THENCE West approximately 2130 feet along the existing
City Limits line to the POINT OF BEGINNING; containing
283 acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby directed to immediately

orrect the map of the City of Lubbock by adding thereto the additional terri—
:)ry annexed by this ordinance, indicating on the map the date of annexation
nd the number of- this Ordinance. The City Secretary -Treasurer and the Cit
,ngineer shall each keep in their respective offices an official map of the Cit;
f Lubbock showing the boundaries of the municipal corporation including this
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause,
ase, or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for
reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary -shall cause the publication of this
nance once a week for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper regularly
fished in the City of Lubbock.

The Texas Department of Community Affairs has the
Qresponsibility of certifying all boundary change ordinances
for the State of Texas for General Revenue Sharing purposes.
NAlthough your city has forwarded copies of ordinances and
Q resolutions of boundary changes to the U. S. Department of
Commerce, Bureau of Census, Copies were not forwarded to
this Department.
W On the attached page you will find a listing of boundary
changes which this Department must review and verify to the
Bureau of Census. They will then be forwarded to the Depart-
ment of Commerce, Office of Revenue Sharing. Please send
copies of the listed ordinances to us as soon as possible as
the time for verification is short.
To prevent this situation arising next year, we would
appreciate your adding our Department, Attention Urban Services
Division, to your mailing list when ordinances affecting
changes in boundaries are passed by your city. We appreciate
your cooperation.

NOTICE is hereby given to owners of the property hereinafter described
or referred to and to all other persons as provided by Law, that the
City Council of the City of Lubbock will hold a public hearing on the
24th day of February, 1977, at 2:00 p.m., in the City Council Chamber
.on the Second Floor of the City Hall in Lubbock, Texas, to consider the
proposed annexation to the City of Lubbock, Texas, and at which time and
place all interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.
The area of land described herein is adjacent to the existing
corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, Texas. Such area is
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limits line, as
established by City of Lubbock Ordinance No. 6201, said
point being 660 feet south and 660 feet east of the Northwest
