HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2022-R0069 - Wheldon Development - HTC Support with TDHCAResolution No. 2022-R0069 Item No. 7.11 February 8, 2022 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, KCG Development, LLC has proposed a development for affordable rental housing to be named The Wheldon to be located at the Northeast Quadrant of Avenue U and 86th Street; and WHEREAS, KCG Development, LLC intends to submit an application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for 2022 Competitive 9% Housing Tax Credits for The Wheldon of Lubbock; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby confirms that it supports the application for the Texas Department of Ilousing and Community Affairs 2022 Competitive 9% Housing Tax Credits for the proposed development of The Wheldon of Lubbock by KCG Development, LLC; and THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby directs City staff to provide a one-time permit fee waiver in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) to be applied to an application for a permit by KCG Development, LLC if it is awarded the Texas Department of I lousing and Community Affairs 2022 Competitive 9% Housing Tax Credits for the proposed development of The Wheldon of Lubbock; and THAT the governing body affirms that the proposed Development is consistent with the jurisdiction's obligation to affirmatively further fair housing.
