HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2018-O0068 - Budget Amendment 17 - 06/28/2018First Reading June 14, 2018 Item No. 6.3 •' ' • 1 ' •im.- Second Reading June 28, 2018 Item No. 6.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2017-18 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE OPERATING BUDGET AND THE CAPITAL PROGRAM TO AMEND CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT (CBD) TIF OPERATING BUDGET; ESTABLISH CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP) 8631, CIVIC CENTER CONVENTION HOTEL PROJECT; AMEND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (CIP) 92227, UNDERGROUND UTILITIES; AMEND CIP 92399, GATEWAYS; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2017-18 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2017-18 (Budget Amendment #17) for municipal purposes, as follows: Amend the FY 2017-18 Central Business District (CBD) TIF Operating Budget by decreasing the budget for Professional Services by $114,048, from $430,350 to $316,302, and increasing the Transfer to CIP by $114,048, from $0 to $114,048. II. Establish Capital Improvement Project 8631, Civic Center Convention Hotel Project, and appropriate funding in the amount of $114,048 for an owners consultant for the Hotel Operator RFP/RFQ process. Funding will be from the Central Business District TIF Fund. III. Amend Capital Improvement Project (CIP) 92227, Underground Utilities, by decreasing the appropriation by $3,000,000, from $11,050,000 to $8,050,000; and amend CIP 92399, Gateways, by increasing the appropriation by $3,000,000, from $1,500,000 to $4,500,000. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
