HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2013-O0090 - Budget Amendment 28 - 09/26/2013First Reading September 10, 2013 Item No. 5.1 ORDINANCE NO. 2013-00090 Second Reading September 26, 2013 Item No. 5.1 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE FY 2012-13 BUDGET FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES RESPECTING THE GRANT FUND TO ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE ADDITIONAL FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS (TDHCA) FOR THE COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CEAP) GRANT; ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (TXDOT) FOR THE TEACHING KIDS TO BE STREET SMART PROGRAM GRANT; ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (DOJ) FOR THE FY 13 EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) PROGRAM; AND ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE FUNDING FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES (DSHS) FOR THE IMMUNIZATION BRANCH — LOCALS (IMMUNIZATION) GRANT, THE PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS SERVICES (PHEP) GRANT, THE REGIONAL AND LOCAL SERVICES SECTIONILOCAL PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM (RLSSILPHS) GRANT, AND THE SYPHILIS ELIMINATION TEXAS — LUBBOCK COUNTY (STD) GRANT; PROVIDING FOR FILING; AND PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS CLAUSE. WHEREAS, Section 102.010 of the Local Government Code of the State of Texas authorizes the City Council to make changes in the budget for municipal purposes; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the City Budget Ordinance the City Council shall approve all transfers between funds and departments; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it advisable to change the FY 2012-13 Budget for municipal purposes and reallocate funds as follows; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the City Council of the City of Lubbock hereby approves changes to the City of Lubbock Budget FY 2012-13 (Budget Amendment #28) for municipal purposes, as follows: I. Accept and appropriate an additional $100,452 from the TDHCA for the CEAP grant, for a total appropriation of $1,115,754. II. Accept and appropriate $31,792 from TXDOT for the Teaching Kids to be Street Smart grant. III. Accept and appropriate $160,583 from the DOJ for the FY 13 Edward Byrne Memorial JAG Program. IV. Accept and appropriate $232,115 from the Texas DSHS for the Immunization Grant. V. Accept and appropriate $250,632 for the PHEP Grant. VI. Accept and appropriate $87,645 for the RLSS/LPHS Grant. Accept and appropriate $100,000 for the STD Grant. SECTION 2. THAT a copy of the changes made to the City of Lubbock Budget pursuant to this Ordinance shall be filed with the City Secretary and County Clerk of Lubbock as required by law. SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
