AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A 20-FOOT WIDE
ALLEY IN BLOCK 13 O'NEALL TERRACE ANNEX, AN ADDITION TO THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK, MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF
THIS ORDINANCE: DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE
OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND
CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the alley portion as hereinafter described W
in the body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for alley purposes and for public use;
and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for alley
purposes and for public use, and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and
abandon the same; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the alley portion as hereinafter described shall BE and the
same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for alley purposes and for public use, such
alley being more particularly described in attached Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark
the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing,
showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or
word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the
remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby
authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance
as an alternative method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

Closure Tract
FIELD NOTES on a .071 acre tract being part of an alley in Block 13, O'Neall Terrace Annex, an Addition
to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas according to the map, plat and/or dedication deed thereof
recorded in Volume 136, Page 210, Lubbock County Deed Records, and being further described by
Metes and Bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at found rod with yellow cap at the Southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 13, O'Neall Terrace
Addition Annex for the Northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE S 01 049'34" W, with the West Right of Way line of Avenue Q, 20.00 feet to a cut crow's foot in
concrete for the Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N 88008'48" W, with the North line of Lots 22, 21 and 20, Block 13, 154.99 feet to the
Southwest corner of this tract which is 0.08 feet South of the North line of a building;
THENCE N 01 °49'28" E, 20.00 feet to a set 1 /2" rod with cap marked RPLS 4460 for the Northwest
corner of this tract;
THENCE S 88008'48" E, with the South line of Lots 3, 2 and 1, Block 13, 154.99 feet to the PLACE of
BEGINNING and containing 0.071 acres including any Right of Way.
