HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 2000-O0057 - Abandoning And Closing A Portion Of 66Th Street - - 10/26/2000First Reading File And Return To VOL 6063PAGEIU6 Ed Sucy R-O-W Second Reading October 12, 2000 October 26, 2000 Item No. 17 �sf'j Item No. 18 ORDINANCE NO. 2000-00057 AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF 66TH STREET LOCATED IN SECTION 36, BLOCK AK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION. WHEREAS, the City'', Council finds that the street portion as hereinafter described in the body of this Ordinance, is no longer needed for public use and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and for public use and it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes and public use; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the street portion as hereinafter described shall BE and the same is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for street purposes and for public use, such street being more particularly described as follows: FIELD NOTES on a 0.0485 acre tract out of a tract of land described in Volume 2571, Page 217, out of Section 36, Block AK, for closure of a part of 66`h Street further described as follows: Beginning at a found iron with yellow cap, which is the Southwest Corner of Lot 6, Spur 327 Business Park, as recorded in Volume 4611, Page 133, Real Property Records, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE N 89°59'00" W, 30.0 feet, pass a set 1/2" rod with cap marked RPLS 4460; and continuing for a total distance of 254.75 feet, to a point of curvature; THENCE Northwesterly around a curve to the right having a radius of 15.0 feet, a tangent of 9.0 feet, a chord length of 15.5 feet, and a delta angle of 62°10'55", to a point; THENCE S. 89059'00" E, 268.02 feet, to the East boundary line of said Lot 24; THENCE S. 00°00'3,0" W., 8.0 feet, to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 0.0485 acres of land, including any Right -of -Way. SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby. SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative method provided by law.
