HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2017-R0358 - City Manager Change Order $50K Or Less - 10/12/2017Resolution No.2017-R0358 Item No.6.3 October 12,2017 RESOLUTION WHEREAS,the Texas Local Government Code at Section 252.048(c)authorizes the governing body of a municipality to grant general authority to an administrative official of the municipality to approve change orders involving an increase or decrease of $50,000 or less;and WHEREAS,the current City of Lubbock policy,as set forth in Resolution No. 2005-R0065 adopted February 10, 2005,provides that the Purchasing Manager of the City of Lubbock may approve routine contract change orders involving an increase or decrease of $25,000 or less;and WHEREAS,the City Council finds it to be in the best interest of the citizens of the Cityof Lubbock to expedite the performance of city business by revising city policy herein to grant the City Manager of the City of Lubbock,or his designee,to approve routine contract change orders involving an increase or decrease of $50,000 or less;NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT Section 1 of Resolution No.2005-R0065 is hereby amended to read as follows: THAT the City Manager of the City of Lubbock,or his designee,is hereby authorized and directed to approve routine contract change orders involving an increase or decrease of $50,000 or less.
