The Cita Commission met in regular session with the following present; Mayor, Percy Spencer, Commissioners, H. .Love, Geo. C. Nolffarth and Y/._'Posy.:, and "'.S.Ruby, City ugr. The following resolution was read and adopted by a unanimous vote of the City Commission. Resolution. In consideration of the fact that the rate of 'taxation as provided in '+rtiele 7, Section 1, of the charter of this City is inadequate to properly care for the purposes of the Street Improvement, including pagiisg and drainage, as well as other Uity purposes, it is the sense bf the City Commission of the City of Lubbock that the preliminary steeps -toward sub- mitting to the voters of this Gity if the limit shall be raised so that in one year the City Commission shall be permitted not to exceed, but to levy 22 p on the taxable value of all property subject to taxation. It is therefore ordered that the '_ayor and City Secretary give the twenty days notice provided by Law of the submission of an ordinance sub- mitting the case of which the increased limit to the voters of this City and which Ordinance will be considered by the City Oorm;issioners on this 26th day of July, 1923, and a copy of this resolution under the hand and seal of the Mayor and Secretary shall be sufficient notice of the date of consideration and the contents of the Ordinance. The following were appointed As Ford of Equalization for the City of Lubbock for the year 1923, at -the rate of $3.00 per day for each memher. J.F.Perry, J.S.Hohnson, B.T.Perny, R.G.Pierce.
