Upon motion by b+r. zosey, seconded by Mr. Blair, the following reuolution was read and ordered passed by unanimous vote; - RESOLUTION ORDERING 1;AYMENT OF SUMS DEPOSITED KITH CITY BY TEXAS UTILITIES COMPANY FOR IMiROVING OF DISTRICTS NOS. A-3 and A-4. WHEREAS, Texas Utilities Company, in order to induce the puvinr and lmprovhiR of the following pa tions of streets in said city, namely. Eust and ";Vest alleys in Block 102 O.T. from its intersection wlth the lest line of l:venue J to its intersection with the East lice of ,Iveuuo K, known as District or Unit No. A-3. North and south alleys in Block 102 O.T. from its interueo tlon with the South line of Tenth Street to its interseution with the North line of Eleventh Street, known as District or Unit I7o. A-4. deposited with the City $763.25 for the purpose of paying the lrojortion of the coot and expense in connection with said improvemulits which tho City would xay under ordinary circumstanoeo, including the coot of udvertlutnp, cost of engineering and one-fourth of the coot of paving; and, ,VH REAS, the said work has been completed and accepted by the City and such funds should now be paid out and there is due and owing to Huwley Roberts. the sum of `130.13, engineering; to the Avulunohe Publishing Com- pany newspaper for advurtiding 1108.60; to Panhandle Conotruction Comlany for constructing the improveraebts 0520.551 THEREFORE, BE IT Ti1;30LW D BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK. Hankins, prevailed that iantt- Baker be paid .908.00, Tarrant No. 4568, this beim the retained percentao-e on their contract and this payment beim made in settlement in full with said lantt-Baker. A motion by Lir. Blair, seconded by Mr. Jones, carried unanimously that the mayor appoint a Chairman of the I1eat Ordinance Committee in the place of leo. C. Solffarth, Former Chairmah. The Mayor appointed J.H. Hankins as Chairman of ti -.is Committee. The other two members of said Committee being J.O. Jones and R. W. Blair. n motion by Mr. mosey, seconded by Mr. Blair, unanimously carried that Dr. Y.J. Akin be appointed Meat, Milk and Sanitary Inspector at a salary of $150.00 per month, beginning May lst, 1926, with the duties now provided by Ordinance and Statute or that may in the future be provided by Ordinance and Statute governing the duties of an Inspector for these Departments. It was moved by Commissioner Posey and seconded by Commissioner Blair that d.H. Perkinson of Durant, Oklahoma, be employed as Supervisor of Lubbock's Utilities at a salary of :5000.00 per year and the City to furnish him a car with the understanding that Mr. Perkinson would perform the duties of City Manager. Upon roll called, the vote was; YEAS: Commissioners Posey, Blair, Jones and Hankins. NAYS: Mayor Pink L. Parrish. Upon which motion was declared carried. Upon motion by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Hankins, the Commission was adjourned in regular session to May 3, 1926. Said motion passed by unanimous vote. READ APED APPROVED this 6, 1h day of MaY 1926.
