Line of Sixteenth Street to its intersection with the South kroperty Line of Nine-
teenth Street, known and designated as Listrict or Unit No. 2.

filling same, and by installing concrete curbs and gutters, and storm sewers ani drains
where necessary, and by paving with one of the following types of material on projer
foundation, to -wit:
(a) Vertical 21bre brick.
Ib) Rock Asphalt.
(c) darrenite Bitulithic.
(d) Concrete
(e) Agphaltic Concrete
(f) Patented Tyres of Laving,
the exact type of Iavement to be determined by the Commission of the City of Lubbock
after receipt of bids.
III.
The City Engineer is hereby directs torpare plans and specifications for sudh
improvements embracing specifications or e c of the said types of paving.

Bnab improvements in each Unit or District shall %e paid for in the following man-
ner; -

streets and avenues to be improved shf.11 pay fro and be assessed fro all the cost of
work in the area between their rails and tracks, double tracks, turnouts, and switches,
and two feet on each side thereof.
(k) The abutting property and owners thereof shall pay and shall be assessed for all
the cost of constructing Curbs in front of such respective properties, ani 90J+ of the
remaining cost of such improvements, after deducting the sums to be paid by railways
and street railways vnder zvb-parag-:
raph (a) aboe, provided that if it shall appear at
the hearing to be had before final assessment that the special benefits to such property

proportione of costs then there shall be assessed and be paid by such abutting property,
and the owners thereof, the amount of such benefits.
)C) The remaining cost of af•id improvements, after deducting the sums finally as-

abbuj6pg*prop+eryy,;dnd,tho,ouners thereof under sub -paragraph (b) above, shall be paid
by the City of Lubbock.
V.
The amounts to be paid by and assessed against railways and street railways for work
between rails and tracke and two feet on each side thereof, shall be payable on estimates
as the work progresses, as may be provided in such specifications, and shall bear int -
10 from date due and until paid at the rate of 1% per ahbum. She amounts to be as-
seased against and paid by abutting property and the owners thereof in each Unit shall
be payable in six equal installments due respectively on or before ],0 days, 1,2,3,4,
and 5 years after the completion and acceptance by the city of the improvements in the
Unit upon which the property abuts and shall bear interest from date of such comple-
tion and acceptance and until paid at the rate of 1% per annum, payable annually, with
provision that if delault be made in the payment of any installment promptly as the save
matures, then at the option of the holler of any such assessment, or certificate issued
in evidence thereof, such default shall mature the entire assessment upon which same is
made.
VI.
Assessments shall be made and levidd and shall be a first and prior lien and personal
liability for rrincipal, interest, reasonable attorney's fees and costs of collection,
if incurred, all under and in accordance with the Charter, and amendments thereto, now
in force in this City.
VII.
This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

ADVERTIM11EITT FOR BIDS.
NHEREA3, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has passed a rsolution ordering
that portions of Texas Avenue, and sundry other streets and avenues, embracing Units
llos. 1 to 10 inclusive, be imprcved by raising, Grading, and filling, and paving, and
otherwise, and directing preparation of plans and specifications therefor; and,

for such improvements, and same have been examihed and approved:

I.
That said plans and srecifications be and the same are hereby adopted and apiroved.

That the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to advertise for bids for the making
and construction of such improvements, such advertisements to be published at least two-
times in a newsparer published in and generally circulated in the City of Lubbock, Texas,
and the first of said advertisements shall be published at least five days before the date
for receiving and opening bids.
