H. ferkinson was appointed City Manazer, at a salary of =34000.00 per year, and the City to furnish him with a car for use in connection with the duties of his office. Parrish, Commissioners 4. S. Posey, J. H. Hankins, and d.V. leaver, and City Secretary G. W. McCleary. Absent: Commissioner J. 0. Jones. $6681.40 City engineer, Lt. F. That the Mayor and City Secretary be and they are hereby instructed to execute and deliver to the Contractor certificates in evidence of the assessments levied againot the parcels of property abutting upon the said portions of Texas t&venue, and against the owners of such property in .the: manner provided in said contract, and the lroceedinea with reference to said improvements and assessments. 111. That the said bonds, together with the surety thereon, be and the same are hereby in all respects accepted and ar,proved. 1V. MCCleary City secretary ( S: -;AL ) The bonds referred to in above resolution dated lay 19th, 1927, in favor of the City of Lubbock, signed by the Panhandle construction ,,om- pany, principal, and the Letropolitan Casualty insurance Company, of New York, as surety. The bond covering maintenance and repair on Unit Edo. 1 is for the sum of „1058.56 and the bond coverikiz maintenance and repair on Unite No. 2 is for the sum of 41643.17. Upon Motion by t~r. Weaver. seconded by Mr. Posey, carried unanigously, the followin7 resolution was adopted: "RESOLUTION ACCEPTING IPrtPROiiZ�11--1TTS ON PORTIONS OF AVENUE "G" AND EIGHT ST t.EET, AND AFFRI OVINE MAINTENANCE BONDS, AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE QF CERTIPI CATES IN EVIDENCE OF ASSESSMENTS LEVIED". WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, heretofore entered into contract with Pb.nhandle Construction Company for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous streets and places in said City, including among others, the following,: - AVENUE "G", from its intersection with the North property line of loth Street, to its intersection with the center line of 8th Street, known and designated as Unit or District No. 3. EIGHTH STRyr)T, from its intersection with the East property line of tivenue "H", to its intersection with the center line of Avenue. "G". known and designated as Unit or -Wistrict 14o. 4. WHEREAS, the improvements upon the said portions of Avenue "G" and Eighth Street, have been completed and have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with the terms of said contract; and, WHEREAS, said Panhandle Construction Company has this day filed with the City its bond for the liaintenance and repair of such improvements in accordance with Paragraph Till of said Contract, and such bonds, together with the Surety thereon, have been examined and approved. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: 1. That the improvements on said portions of Avenue "G" and Eighth Street be and the same are hereby accepted. 11. That the Mayor and City Secretary be and they are hereby instructed' to execute and deliver to the Contractor certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portions of ^Avsiue "G" and :Eighth Street, and against the owners of such K
