AIID OHDE3IN3 = ISSUANC3 OF CEHTI?ICLT'3 Iii sVIDZIdC3 OF ASSSW-2,Ir- 3 LEVIED. ,7HEPEAS, the City of Lubbock. heretofore entered into contract with `ranhandle Construction Company for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous streets end places in said City, including among others the following: - AVENUE "J" from the North Property Line of 9th Street to the North Property Lire of 5th Street, known and designated as Unit or District No. 17. 4HEIiEA3, the improvements upon the said portion of dverze "J'' have been completed and have been inspected and found to ha:e been constructed it, accord4nce with the terms of said contract; and, 1Ti— AS, said Panhandle Construction Company has this day filed with the City its bond for the Maintenance and repair of such im- provements in accordance with Paragraph XII of said contract, and such bonds, together with the Surety thereon, have been examined and approved. II Th -:t the Mayor and City Secretary be and they are hereby in- structed to execute and deliver to the Contractor certificates in ev- idence of the assessments levied against the parcels of Property abutting upon the said portion of Avenue "J" and against the owners of such property in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments. III 'that the said bonds, together with the surety thereon, be and the same are hereby in all respects accepted and approved. Upon motion made b Mr. Weaver, seconded by b;r. Hankins, carried unan- imously, an extension of the sewer line from Radford 3rocer,y Company was granted. City Manager G. W. McCleary was Instructed to take this matter up and Taut said line in to the best advantage for the City. Upon motion made by Idr. Posey, sec• nded by Lor. Weaver, carried unani- mously, the followinrr salaries were ordered paid on a monthly basis in the future, as follows: H. P. IdcLarty X175.00 per month Roy IdcCravy 135.00 " " Bennett geed 85.00 " " Dr. Y. J. Liken 200.00 ' " Jim Mc Canlies 100.00 " " Upon motion made by idr. 2osey, seconded by Lir. 'Deaver, carried unani- mously, City Manager G. d. McCleary was authorized and instructed to take up the matter of running a sewer line on Avenue d from 19th Stredt , to 21st Street. with Mr. �&. L. Davis , and he was instructed that if 1"r5. Davis will give un alley back of her property, the City will ex- tend a sewer line up z2"� to take care of said property. Upon motion made by Mr. Hankins, seconded by Mr. nosey, carried unani- mously, City Manager G. d. McCleary was instructed to carry ;5,000.00 fire insurance on the new, Pire Station on 19th Street. Upon motion mad e by lar. 'Deaver , seconded by bir Hankins, carried urian" ,ImOuSly, City Mana}er G. W. idcCleary was instructed to proceed with the new streot lights, using his own ,judgment in handlinn same. Upon motion made by Mr. Hankins, seconded by Mr. Posey, carried urian- # imously, the City Secretary was authorized and instructed to issue WE" rant in the sum of :25.00 in favor of Dr. Sam G. Dunn for services
