YlMF.As, the City Engineer has prepared and filed with
the City plans and specifications for such improvements, and
' same have been examined and approved;
THEREFORE, BE IT R -SOLVED BY = 13IT`•' CF LU- POCK, i'E "•_S
1.
That said plans and specifications be and the same are
hereby adopted and approved.
11.
That the City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to adver-
tise for bids for the :raking and construction of such improve-
ments such advertisement to be published at least two times
in a newspaper published in and generally circulated in the
City of Lubbock, Texas, and the first of said advertisem;nts shall
be published at least five days before the date of receiving and
opening bids.

as per estimate submitted by City Engineer, T.'.R.-Imith, Jr.,
on North Relief Storm sever.

Resolution carried unanimously.
RESOLUTICP? ACCE2TING IT-12ROVEHEINTS ON A'vMUE "H" UYDER'ASS,
AND APPROVING TaINTENAYCE BOND.
?AREAS, the City of Lubbock, heretofore entered into contract
with Panhandle �;onstruction Comnany for the making and construction
of street improvements on Avenue "E" Underpass, being described
as follows:
Being 11921 feet North of the Forth property line of Eighth
Street to 7721 feet North of the North property line of Fifth
Street.
IMEREAS, the improvements upon the said Avenue TMH" Underpass
have been completed and have been inspected and found to have been
constructed in accordance with thh terms of said contract; arf,

7. -,77271AS. said Panhandle `'onstruc tion Company has this day
filed with the City its bond for the maintenance and repair of
such improvements, and such bond, together -a th the Surety thereon,
has been examined and anpro ved.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TPS CITY OF LU"FOCK, T=kS:

That the Improvements on said avenue "H" Urderpass be and the
same are hereby accepted.

That the said bond, together :.ith the Surety thereon, be and
the sane is hereby in all respects accepted and apnroved.

City Secretary W.H. Rodgers was instructed to issue -.'arrant In the
amount of 1`20,940.18 in favor of the Panhandle -Construction Co.
for 5th and final estimate on Avenue "E" Subway.

amount of 6,150.00 in favor of '.°.S. Acuff in payment for widening,
North avenue "H".
Motion by Mr. Leaverton seconded by :-,-r. Eenson, carried unanimously,
Mayor Pro Tem, Jno. E. Roach, was instructed to appoint Committee
comnosed of Commissioner Bacon and City Manager filler, who were '
instructed to work out sale of second hand 360 F..?. Fairbanks
Morse Engine and report the matter to the City Commission.
The matter of A.G. Odom duplex hookup with resident water service
was discussed and City I.:anager Filler was ir-structed to look into
this matter and re?ort back to the City Commission.
Motion by I.S. Bacon, seconded by I'r. Leaverton, carried unanimously,
City Manager J. Bryan biller was instructed to carry fire insurance
on City property as per list submitted to City Cor% fission by 6,!r.
Benson and 1!r. Miller.
the matter of Mexican Park on North side of �anta Fe Railway tracks
was discussed and Flock 15, Acuff Addition, was set aside for this
pur;lose.
Motion by Mr. Benson, seco: ded by Mr. Leaverton, carried unanimously,
it was ordered that as many members of the City Comnission and
City Manager Idiller and J.J. Graham, Light dant Superintendent,
attend the meeting of the Municipal Utilities League at Brady, June
19th and 20th and at the City's expense.
Judge Bean, Mr. A.G. Hunt, Mr. Claude Denton and s. R.S. "!illians
came before the City Commission in regard to Charity cases, whereupon
motion by Mr. Benson, seconded by Ir. Leaverton, the Mayor was
instructed to appoint Committee to work with Judge Bean and others
to work this matter out. Co=,littee appointed, Jno. E. Roach, and '
City Manager Hiller.

it was ordered to lease I:`.r. Hobgood the East one-half of Airport
Section for six (6) months at ?'75.00. City Attorney L.L. Klett
to draw up contract.

The City of Lubbock hereby leases to C.E. Hobgood, tenant, the
3ast One-half (E12) of Section Twenty-eight (28) in Block A,
Lubbock County, Texas, for a period of six months from date, for
grazing pur,,oses, for the agreed rental of ?'75.00 to be paid in
advance.
This lease is made subject to the riFdit of the City to cancel
at any time, in which event the Gity will return to the said tenant
the unearned rental.
The t:;nant shall erect a wire fence on the ..est side of said land
at his own expense to prevent livestock from getting on the _'est
half of said section and interfering with the airport. the tenant
shall have the right to remove the said fence upon termination
of V -is lease, it being the understanding that the tenant will fill
up all )ost holes and leave the land in as good condition as when
he received it so far as the injury done by fencing is concerned.
