HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 040534 - Closing Certain Streets & Alleys, & Moving Ave E Between 23Rd & 26Th Streets - 04/05/1934RESOLUTION CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS; AND MOVIIG AVENUE E BETWEEN 23rd AND 26th STREETS Moved by Geo. E. Benson, and seconded by Jno. E. Roach, and unanimously carried, that Avenue E between 23rd Street and 26th Street, and Avenue F from 23rd Street south to the F.W. & D.S.P. Ry. Co. right of way, and 24th Street between Avenue E and Avenue 1', and 25th Street between Avenue E and Avenue Y, and 26th Street between Avenues E and Y and the alleys in Blocks Eleven (11), Twelve (12) and Thir- teen (13), of the Merrill Addition, all in the town of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be, and the same are hereby closed and vacated; and Avenue E between 23rd and 26th Streets in said town moved to and reopened for public travel for the same distance and width on, the east side of a ten -acre strip of land on the east side of said Avenue E between said 23rd and 26th Streets. This resolution shall not be effective until said new avenue is opened up and dedicated to the public use as a highway, at the same time said Avenue E is physically closed to public travel and use. Passed and adopted by unanimous vote of the amity Commission of the City of Lubbock, a quorum being present, this 5th day of April, 1934. A J J Clements Mayor. ATTEST: J L Halt City Secretary.
