HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 2021-R0321 - TX Youth Action Network Community Partner Agreement with A&M 8.24.21Resolution No. 2021-R0321 Item No. 7.2.2 August 24, 2021 RESOLUTION BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the Mayor of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Texas Youth Action Network Community Partner Agreement and Statement of Work to provide resources and assistance to community organizations that wish to develop Youth Adult Partnerships to incorporate the perspectives of young people between the ages of 10 and 24 into their work, by and between the City of Lubbock and the Public Policy Research Institute at Texas A&M University. Said Agreement and Statement of Work are attached hereto and incorporated in this Resolution as if fully set forth herein and shall be included in the minutes of the Council. POPE, MAYOR Rya B oke, ssistant City Attorney RES.COLHD TYAN Community Partner Agreement 8.2.21 Resolution No. 2021-R0321 TEXAS YOUTH ACTION NETWORK (TYAN) COMMUNITY PARTNER AGREEMENT AND STATEMENT OF WORK AGREEING PARTIES This agreement is entered into by and between the Public Policy Research Institute at Texas A&M University ("PPRI") and Prevention Resource Center ("COMMUNITY PARTNER"). This agreement is funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services. It is understood by all parties that payment obligations are conditioned upon the availability of State or Federal funds. PURPOSE OF THE AGREEMENT The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has contracted with the Public Policy Research Institute at Texas A&M University to implement and evaluate the Texas Youth Action Network (TYAN). The purpose of the network is to provide resources and assistance to community organizations that wish to develop Youth Adult Partnerships (YAPS) to incorporate the perspectives of young people between the ages of 10 and 24 into their work. Adults and youth working together is expected to increase adults' commitment and connection with youth, and promote Positive Youth Development (PYD). SERVICES PROVIDED TO TYAN COMMUNITY PARTNERS In addition to publicly available resources about YAP development posted on the TYAN website or presented at conferences, the COMMUNITY PARTNER is eligible to receive additional forms of assistance: ➢ Online self -paced "Youth Development Training Series," ➢ A collaboratively developed "Implementation Plan" to guide YAP activities, ➢ Training and technical assistance provided through site visits, online, and regular telephone check -ins, ➢ Mini -grants up to $10,000 over two years to develop new capacity for Youth Adult Partnerships and promote Positive Youth Development activities. DELIVERABLES Services and Mini -Grant funds are available to the COMMUNITY PARTNER between 7/23/2021 AND 7 22 2023 and are contingent upon the timely completion of products specified in the Schedule of Deliverables. SCHEDULE OF DELIVERABLES Mini -Grant awards to the COMMUNITY PARTNER cannot under any circumstances exceed $9,500 in a single fiscal year (September -August). Cohort determination is based on when Deliverable 1 is achieved.
