Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas:--
Miereas, heretofore, on the 9th., day of March, A.D.1914, there
w�;.s presented to the City Council o' the City of Lubbock, Texas, a petition
signed by O.F.Peebler and others owning property affected by the said
petition, asking that the City Council build, or have built, a sidewalk, or
sidew:,a.lks on the west side of Willow Street from the south east corner of
Block No. 16? ifiorth,i;ard, L, 1. the east side of Blocks No.162, No.146,
and No.130, and it a:pearing to the said City (Iouneil that the sidewalks
petitioned for are badly n:eded; there ore, by virtue of the authority
vested in the City Council by the General Sidewalk Ordinance, being
Ordinance No. 55, passed by the City Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas,
on the `?7 th. , day of May, A. D. 1911: --
BE IT RESULVSD by the City Council of the City of Lug -bock, Texas;
t'r..e, it is hereby made t.re duty of the owners of the following described
property to build sidewalks adjoing or abuttinjon their property as herein-
after set out.
THE WIT)THs--
The said sidewalks are to be built four (4) feet wide along or
abutting lots nizrr_bered eleven (11) , twelve (1`') , thirteen (13) , fourteen

(14), fifteen (15),,, -sixteen (16) in Block numbered one hundred thirty (130)
and also Lots numbered eleven (11) , twelve X12-) , thirteen (13) , fourteen
(14), fifteen (15), sixteen (16), seventeen (17), eighteen (18), nine-
teen (19), and twenty(?0) in Block numbered one hundred forty six (146),
and also Lots numbered eleven (11). twelve (l?), thirteen (17). fourteen
(14), fifteen (15), sixteen (15), seventeen (17), eighteen (18), nineteen
and twenty (?,C) in block numbered one hundred sixty two (16?) , all
in the OriS.inal Town of Lubbock, Texas, as the sarr:e xTmMMXz is shown 00
map or plat xf recorded on pages X84-7854; Volume 5, Deed Records of Lubbock
County, Texas.
The inner side of the said walk is to conform to a line parallel with
the east line of the said lots and at distance of two feet from the said
line. The outer side or the side next the street is to conform to a line
parallel with the said e!, -t line of the. said lots and at a distance of six
feet, r( -m it, braking a sidewalk four (4) feet in width.

Said sidewalks are to be built to conform to the following require-
ments: --
RASP :--
The base (or concrete) shall be four (4) inches thick and shall
be compasmed of cne part of best Portland Cement, by measure, to two parts
of screened, sharp clean sand and four parts of crushed stone or washed
gravel, free from dirt, dust, or coal and not more than one (1) inch in
its greatest diameter.
WPARING SURFACE: --
The wearing surface, (or dressing) shall be of a thickness of one (1)
inch composed of two (2) parts, by measure of best Portland Cement and
three (3) parts of good sharp clean sand, or fine crushed substantial
stone or granite properly screened through a one- fourth (1/4) inch mesh
screen. The wearing surface shall be carried up simultaneously with the
base (or concrete) and before tha base (or concrete) can set. All walks
sh,,.i 1 be cut through in blocks of four��Iet by four_'P�?eet ` 4P four (4)
inches, or as near thereto as practicable. Whenever it becomes necessary
for these dimensions to be varied, permission to do so must be obtained
from the Mayor of his duly authorized representative.
GRADE: --
The said sidewalks and curbs must be laid to the grade established
by the City 'Engineer or other representative of the City acting in such
capacity, and in case any sidewalks or curbs now existing or that may
be built under this Resolution, are not in confornjity with the grade and
various requirements above set out, it shall be the duty of the owner
of said property to do construct, or reconstruct, such sidewalk or curb
so that it will conform to the various requirements herein set out.
FILI:ING: --
lArhenever it becomes necessary to fill any place in order that the
sidewalks may conform to the established grade, when completed, the earth
or material used in filling, shall be thoroughly tamped.
COVERING:�}
Whenever the surface of any sidewalk or curb begins to set it snarl
be covered with one-half(112) inch of damp sand until the same shall have
properly set.
