RESOLUTION ADOPTIITG AND APPROVING ENGIIIEER' S
ROLLS OR STATM ENTS FOR PORTIONS OF FOURTEENTH
STREET AND THIRTEENTH STREET AND SLTE7DRY ALLEYS,

WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock has heretofore ordered
that the hereinbelow mentioned portions of streets and alleys
be improved by raising, grading and filling and paving, and
by installing concrete curbs and gutters on Units =ios. 35 and
36, and otherwise; arid,
WHEREAS, contract for the making and construction
of said iruprovements has been made and entered into with the
-i u',anhandle Construction Company, as Contractor, and the City
Engineer has glade and prepared and filed with the City his
rolls or statements showing the amounts to be assessed against
parcels of abutting property and the owners thereof', and
showing other .ratters and things, and said statements have
been examined and corrections :Wade where necessary:
THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY = CITY OF
LUBBOCK, TEXAS: THAT,
I.
Said rolls or statements be and the same are hereby
adopted and approved.
II.
That a hearing be given and held by and before the
City Commission of Lubbock to the owners of property abutting
upon the said streets and alleys to be improved, and to all
others in any wise interested or affected, concerning said
improvements, the amounts of the proposed assessments against
abutting property and the owners thereof', concerning the
apportionmlent of the cost of said improvements and the des-
criptions of property, names of owners, regularity of proceed-
ings, and concerning.all other matters and things in connection
�j with which anyone is entitled to be heard under the Law and
Charter with amendments in force in said City, and the proceed-
ings of the City with reference to said improvements.
The portions of streets and alleys so to be im-
proved and in connection with which such rolls or statements
are adopted being as set forth in the form of notice herein-
below prescribed.
Said hearing shall be held in the regular Com-
mission meeting room in the City Hall in the City of Lubbock,
Texas, on theI!!�ff.

Commission fully accomplished, and such hearing shall in all
respects be conducted in accordance with said charter with
amendments, law and proceedings.
IV.
The City Secretary is directed to give notice of the
time, place and purpose of such hearing by causing notice in
substantially the form hereinbelow prescribed to be published
at least three times prior to the date of said hearing in a
newspaper published in and of general circulation in the City
of Lubbock, Texas, the first of which publications shall be at
least ten days before the date for such hearing, and the form
of which notice shall be substantially as follows:

The Governing Body of the City of Lubbock has hereto-
fore ordered that the following portions of streets and alleys
in said City of Lubbock, Texas, be improved by raising, grading
and filling and paving, and by installing concrete curbs and
gutters on Units Nos. 35 and 36, and otherwise, to -wit:
FOURTEE17M STREET, from its intersection with the
Vilest property line of Avenue "�" to its intersection
with the East property line of College iivenue, known
and designated as Unit or District I,ro. 35.
lgGRTH A T SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 148, 0. T. , from
its intersection with the South property line of
Thirteenth Street to its intersection with the North
property line of Fourteenth Street, known and designated
as Unit or District No. A-14.
NORTH A dD SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 149, 0. T. , frorc,
its intersection with the South property line of
Thirteenth Street to its intersection with the Yorth
property line of Fourteenth Street, known and designated
as Unit or District o.
AICD SOUTHALLEY INBLOCK 117, 0. T. , from
its intersection with the South line of 10:ain Street to
its intersection with the Tlorth line of Broadway Street,
known and designated as Unit or District 1vo. iL-16.
THIRTELliTH STREET, from its intersection with the
'West property line of Avenue "L" to its intersection
with the Last property line of ;venue " ", to a width
of approximately fifty five feet between ,
save and except that portion of said street to -wit, a strip
approximately thirty five feet wide, which is already
paved, known and designated as Unit or District No. 36,
and contract for the makin and construction of such improve-
ments with pavement of 2-1�2 Inch Vertical Fibre Brick on 4
Inch Concrete Base (iio. 1 Brick to be used on Units 65 and 36
and lJo. 2 Brick to be used on Units A-14, A-15 and A-16) has
been made and entered into with Panhandle Construction Company,
and rolls or statements showing the proposed amouits to -be
assessed against abutting property and the owners thereof have
been filed with the City, such rolls or statements showing other
matters and things, and have been approved, and. the City
Commission of said City has fixed a time and place for hearing
to the owners of property abutting upon said portions of
streets and alleys, and to others affected., at which hearing

the amounts to be assessed against the respective parcels of
abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements in
the units upon which the particular parcels of property abut,
the amounts of benefits to the respective parcels of -property
by weans of the improvements in the unit upon which the par-
ticular property abuts, the regularity of the proceedings with
reference to such improveaerlts, the apportionment of the cost
of such improve.cients, and other natters and things will be
determined, and after such hearing assessments will by
ordinance be made and levied, and such hearing will be had and
held by and before the City Commission of the City of Lubbock,
Texas, in the regular Commission meeting room in the Cit -r Hall
in the City of Lubbock$ Texas, on th /.3� day of ,

stgtements showing the proposed amounts of such assessments are
on file in the office of the City Secretary, and copies there-
of are in the office of the City Engineer of the City of
Lubbock, and open to inspection of any interested parties at
any time, and of all said matters and things all such owners
of property, as well as any and all others in any wise affected
or interested, will tale due notice.

No notice other than that hereinabove provided
for shall be necessary, but publication of such notice shall
be due and sufficient notice to any and all persons, firms,
corporations and other parties.
This resolution shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
