Be it remembered that on this the zu'-Aiay of

Co fission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, all members be-

ing present, it was moved by Commissioner A A,
seconded by Commissioner , , unanimous-
ly carried, that the Mayo of the City of Lubbock, Texas,
be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to publish
notice in a newspaper of general circulation published
within the City of Lubbock, Texas, of the intention of the
City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, that on the

room on the second floor of the City hall in said City

said City Commission will pass an ordinance authorizing the
issuance of time warrants in the amount of $2,945.00, ma -
iuring serially , maximum maturity date being Z/day of
r, 1940, in favor of Mrs. Mollie D. Abernathy,
for the purchase of 332.6 acres of land out of Section One
(1), Bloels Seventy-seven (77), Lubbock County, Texas, bear-
ing interest at the rate of 5% per annum, and also pass an
ordinance authorizing the issuance of time warrants in the
amount of $7000.00, maturing serially, maximum maturity date
being the day of 1940, in favor of P.F.
Brown, for the purchase of 100 acres of land out of Section
Three (3), Block 0, Lubbock County, Texas, bearing interest
at the rate of 5 o per annum. The purchase price of the P.F.
Brown land is 10,000.00, of which $3000.00 is to be paid in
cash, and the purchase of the Mfrs. Mollie D. Abernathy land

is $2',945*00 to be paid for wholly with said time warrants.
The purchase of said land shall be closed at the time and
place which are stated.
If by the time set for the purchase of said land and
the issuance of said time warrants as many as 10b in numoer
of the qualified voters of the City, whose names appear on
the last approved tax rolls as property tat; payers, petition
the governing body of said City in writing to submit to refer-
endum vote the question as to the issuance of said time war-
rants for such purpose, then the governing body shall not be
authorized to make said expenditures and shall not finally
issue such time warrants unless the proposition to issue
said warrants for such purpose is sustained by a majority
of the votes cast at"such election.
Notice is further given that proper ordinance or
resolution authorizing the issuance of said time warrants
will be passed on at said time and place by the City Com-
mission.
A copy of this resolution, signed by the Mayor and
attested by the City Secretary, and published in a news-
paper above designated, shall_ be sufficient notice, when
such notice is published therein once each week for at
least two weeps, the date of the first publication to be
not less than 14 days prior to the date fixed for the pass-
age of such ordinance and the issuance of said time war-
rants -for the purchase of said lands*
Passed and approved first reading, all members of
the City Commission being present, this Z.5 ay of July,
1935.
