Upon the representation of the State Parks Board that the National Par;; Service would expend approximately „312,000.00 in establishing and equipping in proper shape a park upon said lands so purchased by the Cite of Lubbock, same to be known as"Y4ckenzie iark"; and, �iEPLEAS, information nocomes to the City of Lub- bock that said "Park project is to be abandoned by the Nat- ional Parr Service long before the work proposed to be done by said Service is completed according to the representa- tions that induced the City to expend its money in the ac- quisition of said land for park purposes; and, MEREAS, the city would not have expended said funds save and except upon the representation that the grounds would be suitably equipped and provisioned for park purposes by the National Park Service) therefore, be i.: resolved hat the City of Lubbock, hereby protests said proposed abandonment and herewith strongly arge s the State's Park Board to join the City in using every 168itimate effort to induce the National Park Service to comply with its agreement and complete the work of equipping said lands in proper and suit- able manner as a place of recreation as was contemplated at the time said lands were acquired by the City of Lubbock. Passed and approved b- unanimous vote of the City Commission of the Cit -r of Lubbock, Texas, at a called meeting held in the City Elall on Larch 1719 1936, to which we certify.
