E. Slator, Mayor, �. G. IdeMi.11ion, J. A. Fortenberry, Commissioners, W. B. Price, Hub Jones, Miss Lavenia '+Villiams, City Secretary, with the following members absent: None, constituting a quorum, at which time the following proceedings were had: Commissioner I clue lla n introduced a resolution and made a motion that it be adopted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Yortenber The motion carrying with it the adoption of the resolution prevailed by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners IficMillion, Fortenberry, Price and Jones. NOES: None. The Hiayor announced that the resolution had been adopted. The resolution as adopted is as follows: RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE HAYOR TO GIVE NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE $50,000.00 OF TDD, WARRANTS. IN[HEREAS, it is considered to be to the best interest of the City to purchase certain equipment and to issue interest—bearing time warrants for the payment thereof; THKEUEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C L-1ISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I r�� 1. That the Iayor be and he is hereby authorized and directed to insert in a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, a Notice to Bidders and of the Cit,y's intention to issue interest-bearing time warrants; that said notice be published in accordance with law for the period of time required by law; that said notice be substantially in words and figures as follows, to -wit: "i;OTICE TO BIDDERS Notice is hereby given that on the 5th day of December , 1939, at 1:00otclock, P . if., at the City Hall of the City of Lubbock, Texas, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock will receive sealed competitive bids on Proposal to sell and deliver F.O.B. cars, Lubbock, Texas, the follo�jring equipment: 1 - Natural Gas Burning Diesel engine Generating Unit E-inimum H.P. 2700 1�1aximum H.P. 3200 with direct connected generator of suitable size therefor, with necessary auxiliaries . Bids -shall be accompanied by certified check of the bidder in the amount of five per cert (5jo) of the bid price, unconditionally payable to the L��ayor of tiie Ui ty of Lubbock, Texas, or a bidder's bond. Said bond to be executed b;r a responsible surety Company who has a permit to do business in Texas, to guarantee execution of contract, if sarle should be awarded to the bidder. Specifications may be obtained at the office of the City Manager. g a b ea ea�eet�#� e t of cue--eentrteb The City Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids. u2cagA� If a contract be awarded for said equipment, the City Commission intends to issue time warrants for the payment of all or a part of such purchase price, in an amount not exceeding Fifty Thousand ($50,000.00) Dollars, bearing Three (3%) per cert interest, and maturing in installments, the last installment maturing not later than December 31, 1942.
