BL IT REMEMBERED that a regular meeting of the City
Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, held in the Commission
Room in the City hall on the 23rd day of November, 1939, a quorum
being present, among other business transacted, upon motion of
Commissioner Jones and seconded by Commissioner
Lici.`illn, the following resolution was unanimously passed:
WHEREAS, on June 27, 1939, the City of Lubbock, a muni-
cipal corporation, acting by and thvuugh its mayor thereunto duly
authorized and Nordburg Manufacturing Co., a corporation of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, acting by and through its agent and representative, Chas.
B. Trimble, made and entered into a contract for the sale and purchase
of
One (1) Nordberg Type TAG -218, 3200 B.H.P., 225 R.P.M.
Crosshead Piston Constructed, iuechanical Injection
Convertible Gas Diesel Engine arranged for
direct connection to
One (1) 2250 Kati., 18 power factor, 3 phase, 60 cycle,
2400 volt, 500C. alternating current flywheel
type generator, equipped with motor -operated
rheostat and temperature indicating equipment.
One (1) 30 K.W., 1150 R.P.M., shunt wound, multi -V -belt
driven exciter,
and by the terms of said contract Nordberg Manufacturing Co. agreed to
sell said engine to the City of Lubbock for a total cost of $175,018.00
and the City of Lubbock agreed to pay Nordberg Manufacturing Co. the
sum of $175,018.00, said payment to be made by the City of Lubbock as
follows:
$50,000.00 cash when engine is ready for shipment from
factory; balance upon completion and erection and acceptance, but not
to exceed sixty days after shipmwnt of equipment from the factory.
xND, WHEREAS, it has been mutually agreed by and Vetween
the City of Lubbock as purchaser and Nordberg lanufacturing Co. as
seller that said contract be in all things rescinded and cancelled.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C OVIlviIS1.') OF THE
CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS:
That that certain contract made and entered into by and
between the City of Lubbock, Texas, as purchaser and Nordberg Manufacturing
Co. as seller, which contract was approved and accepted on the 5th
day of July 1939, by Nordberg Manufacturing Co. acting by and through

its Vice President, E. C. Bayerlein, for the purchase of
One (1) Nordberg Type TAG -218, 3200 B.H.P., 225 R.P.M.
Crosshead Piston Constructed, Mechanical Injection
Convertible Gas Diesel Engine arranged for direct
connection to
One (1) 2250 K.W., 18 power factor, 3 phase,,60 cycle,
2400 volt, 5000. alternating current flywheel
type generator, equipped with motor -operated
rheostat and temperature indicating equipment.
One (1) 30 K.VV., 1150 R*P.M., shunt wound, multi -V -belt
driven exciter)
and which engine was to be paid for according to the terms of said con-
tract as follows:
450,000.00 cash when engine is ready for shipment from
factory; balance upon completion of erection and acceptance, but not
to exceed sixty days after shipment of equipment from factory;
be and the same is hereby in all things rescinded and cancelled and
