D. 1940, a quorum being present, the fol- lowing business was transacted: Upon motion of Commissioner AlcMillan and seconded by Commissioner Fortenberry _ , the fol- lowing resolution was duly passed: WHEREA6J. Ordinance Pio. 517 provides for the issuance of permits for the operation of domino parlors within the City of Lubbock and also provides treat no betting shall be permitted, @n any game of dominoes, either b; the players or by spectators, and, uVHEREAS, said ordinance provides for a cancellation of an: permit issued thereunder for a violation of said ordinance, and, VUHEREAS, under said ordinance a permit to operate a domino parlor has been issued to John Causineau at 1506 Avenue H ir_ the City of Lubbock, Texas, and, "WHEREAS, the said John Causineau has bE„ =n operating a domino parlor at 1506 hvenue ii in the City of Lubbock, Texas, since the issuance of said permit, and, WHER "a, on March 28th, 1940, one J. 1V. kor_tgomery, Joe hoyle and 0. R. White were for- mally charged by complaints filed in the Corporation Court in the City of Lubbock with gambling by betting on games of dominoes which they played in the domino parlor of John Causineau, located at the address above named, and, vvhhhEiiS, each of the above named parties entered a plea of guilty to said charges and were assessed a fine of 14,12.50 each and said fines were duly paid b.% each of said parties. THEAEr'Gi-EP BE IT iiEoOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, that the permit heretofore issuea to the said John Causineau, giving and granting to him the right to operate a domino parlor in the City of Lubbock, Texas, is hereby in all things canceled and held for naught.
