HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 051740A - Street Improvements - 6Th Street, Texas Avenue - 05/17/1940d 051140A RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEETING IMPROVERIENTS ON PORTIONS OF STREETS, AVENUES AND ALLEYS, AS LISTED BELOW, AND ORDERING THE ISSUAIvCE OF CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE OF ASSESSi`:ENTS LEVIED. HLRItS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improvement ordinances and resolutions, and entered into con- tract with the property owners for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous streets and avenues in said City, including among others the following: 6th Street from the !":est Property Line of Avenue ,; to the East Property Line of College Avenue, known and designated as Unit or District No. 253. Texas Avenue from the South Property Line of 23rd Street to the South Property Line of 25th Street, known and designated as Unit or District No. 296. Texas Avenue from the South Property Line of 25th Street to the North Line of Tract 7, Harkey Addition, Thence on a curve to South Property Line of 30th Street at =,.venue H, known and designated as Unit or District ado. 297. .:ND ,17HEREAS, the improvements upon the said portion of the above mentioned streets and/or avenues, have been completed and have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accor- dance with the terms of said contract; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the above mentioned streets and/or avenues, be and the same are hereby accepted. Ii. That the ayor and City Secretary be and they are hereby instructed to execute and deliver certificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portions of the streets and avenues as listed above, and against the owners of such property in accordance with law and in the manner provided in said contract, and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments. This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. PASSED AND _PPROVED this the 17th day of May, 1 40. 1% Y6 r. AT T• City Secretary. PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on May 17th, 1940, at 2:00 o'clock P.'., the City Commission will hold a public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Lubbock, as required by Article 1011F, Title 28, Chapter 4, of the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas. At this meeting the Commission will take under consideration the recommendations of the Zoning Commission, contained in its final report and the enactment of a zoning ordinance zoning the City of Lubbock into certain districts and the adoption of a zoning map, outlining each district and restricting the use of all property in such districts to certain specified purposes.
