HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 052840A - Bid Accepted - Williams & Whittle Inc - Construction Of Storm Sewer Improvements - 05/28/1940052340A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY C014MISSION OF Ti {: C1T-1 OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS NHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, Texas, heretofore duly advertised for competitive bids on construction of certain storm sewer improvements according to plans and specifications theretofore adopted by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, and, WHEREAS, the bids received were duly opened at the adjourned regular meeting of said City Commission held at the City Fall in Lubbock, Texas, on the afternoon of May 28th, 1940, and all of such bids duly opened, tabulated and considered, and, d4HEREAS, at an adjourned, regular meeting of said City Commission, held at the City Hall in Lubbock, Texas, at 7:00 o'clock P. k., on kay 28th, 1940, it was found that the - bid of Williams and Whittle, Incorporated, Dallas, Texas, to -Parnish all labor, tools and material, and to construct, com- plete in every detail, such storm sewer improvements for the sum of 0166,978.48, was the lowest and best bid received for said storm sewer improvements: On motion of Commissioner IViclv;illan, seconded by Commissioner Jones, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, unanimously passed and adopted the following resolution: BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, that the bid of Williams and 'u`.'hittle, In- corporated, Dallas, Texas, for the construction of said storm sewer improvements in the sum of 4166,978.48, be and is hereby accepted, and that C. E. Slaton, Niayor of the City of Lubbock, Texas, be and he is hereby authorized and empowered to enter into and execute and deliver to said 144illiams and Whittle, In- corporated, Dallas, Texas, a contract for the construction of said storm sewer improvements, according to the plans and speci- fications adopted therefor, and in accordance with the terms of said -bid, upon said 'dilliams and Whittle, Incorporated, Dallas, Texas, executing such contract and also executing and delivering to the City of Lubbock, Texas, a good and sufficient bond in the sum of 4'p166,978.48, executed by a solvent surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, as surety, guaranteeing the performance of such contract by Williams and Whittle, Incorporated, Dallas, Texas, satisfactory to and approved by the Mayor of the City of Lubbock, Texas. nDOPTED kay 28th, 1940.
