S Olil That, , the following resolution WHEREAS, in Block 7 of Ellwood Place Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, there is great need for the opening and extending an alley from the East side of Lot 4 in said Block 7, West across Lots 4, 5 and 6 to Adams Avenue in order that the residences on the North and South sides of Block 7, may be adequately and properly furnished with garbage service and for the further purpose of putting in and maintaining certain utilities such as lights, telephone, water, gas and sewerage, so that such utilities may be available at all times to the citizens living on both the North and South sides of said Block 7 in Ellwood Place Addition; THERE FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, that a strip of land fifteen (15) feet wide through a part of Lot 4, Block 7, Ellwood Place, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas, described as follows: BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Lot 3A, said Block 7, THENCE west, parallel to and 141 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street along the pro- jection of the South line of a 15 foot alley from the East, 194 feet to a point in the West line of said Lot 4, THENCE North 9 feet to the South line of a tract belonging to or having been owned by A. T. Donnelly, THENCE East 7 feet to the Southeast corner of said A. T. Donnelly tract; THENCE North 6 feet; 071g 41 IS THENCE East, parallel to and 156 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street, 187 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 3 in said Block 7, THENCE South 15 feet to the place of beginning, as surveyed on the ground by the City Engineering Department, containing 2868 square feet of land; Also, a strip of land 4 feet wide through or across a part of Lot 5, Block 7, Ellwood Place Addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas, being described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the East line of the Nest One-half of said Lot 5, 141 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street; THENCE West, parallel to and 141 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street along the pro- jection of the South line of the 15 foot width alley as produced from Lots 1, 2 and 3 in said Block 7, 61.5 feet to a point in the West line of Lot 5; THENCE North 4 feet; THENCE East 61.5 feet; THENCE South 4 feet to the place of beginning, con- taining 246 square feet of land; Also, a strip of land 9 feet wide through or across a part of Lot 6 in Block 7, Ellwood Place, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas, being described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the East line of said lot 6, 141 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street; THENCE West parallel to and 141 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street, 100 feet; THENCE North along the East property line of Adams Avenue, and the West property line of said Lot 6, 9 feet; THENCE East, 100 feet; THENCE South 9 feet to the place of beginning as surveyed and established on the ground by the City Engineering Department, containing 900 square feet of land; Also, a strip of land 6 feet wide through or across a part of Lot 6, Block 7, Ellwood Place, an Addition to the City of Lubbock, Texas, being described as follows: N 011q415 BEGINNING at a point in the East line If said Lot 6, 150 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street, said point being the Southeast corner of this C. T. McKeown tract; THENCE West parallel to and 150 feet North of the North property line of 20th Street, 100 feet to a point on the East property line of Adams Avenue and the West line of said Lot 6; THENCE North 6 feet; THENCE East 100 feet; THENCE South 6 feet, to the place of beginning, as surveyed on the ground by the City Engineering Department, containing 600 square feet of land; be condemned and the City Attorney is hereby instructed to in- stitute condemnation proceedings in the County Court of Lubbock County, Texas, to condemn the above described land for an alley for the uses and purposes hereinbefore stated and to prosecute said condemnation suits against the o,nrners of said land: Dr. V. V. Clark and wife, Clyde Clark; H. L. Lowe and wife, Nellie Lowe; Kathryn Adcock, a widow; and C. T. McKeown and wife whose name is unknown to the -City Commission; and IT IS SO ORDERED.
