BE IT RaLiEKBERED that on the 13th day of
November A. D. 1942, the City Commission met in the Commission
room in the City Hall in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas, a quorum being present, and among other business trans -
upon motion of Commissioner J.O.Jone,s,seconded by Commission.Pr W.B. Price,
acted/ the following resolution was duly passed;
WhEREAS, on August 25th, 1942, the City of
Lubbock issued its building permit No. 9592, to Sampson Brothers,
contractors, who had contracted with the Sisters of St.
Joseph to build and erect certain improvements in Un rear of
the Sisters of St. Joseph Hospital at 2609 19th Street in the
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, and;
WHEREAS, under Section 903 of the Building code
of the City of Lubbock, steel window frames are required to be
placed in said building, and, whereas, there is a shortage
of steel and the Sisters of St. Joseph are unable to obtain
steel window frames, caused by the emergency brou7ht about by
World Wqr ire. N, and., wheL-eas, 4ic building has been practically
completed with the exception of the installation of window
frames; ,
hO-1d, THEREFORE;, BE IT RESOLVED, b1i the City
Commission of the City of Lubbock that the Sisters of St.
Joseph and their contractor, Sampson Brothers, be and they
are hereby permitted to install wood window frames, temporarily,
with the understanding and agreement that when steel window
frames can be obtained that then the Sisters of St. Joseph
shall remove said �,•aood window frames and install therein steel
window frames as required by Section 903 of the City of Lubbock
Building Code, and IT IS SO ORDERED.
