WHERFAS, venereal diseases are prevalent among prostitutes and
persons associated with them, and the City Commission desires
that every available means be used to prevent spreading of
such diseases, and that such means be instituted by proper
authorities to treat, control and abate such diseases,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of Lubbock
that the City Health Officer of said City institute measures
for the protection of other persons from infection by persons
having and reasonably suspected of having any venereal disease
as provided and contemplated by Article 4445 Revised Civil
Statutes of Texas; that said Health Officer issue all directions
orders and instructions, warrants or commitments necessary or
incident to the continuous proper enforcement of all provisions
of said law which are hereby adopted; and to attain the purposes
of said law, all peace officers of the City of Lubbock are
hereby instructed, empowered and directed to co-operate with
said health officer and other proper officials in the enforce-
ment of the provisions of said law, and otherwise to use every
proper means consistent therewith.
