HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 102545A - Right Of Ways - Opening Streets For Purpose Of Linking Portions Of Streets - 10/25/1945RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock has entered into a comprehensive plan to improve certain streets and highways in the City of Lubbock in conjunction with the State of Texas, the State Highway Commission, and has by ordinance,heretofore establish building lines along the certain streets involved in the plan, and., Wfflgs.EAS, the projected plans necessitate the opening of streets in the vicinity hereinafter described for the purpose of linking up portions of streets now in existence with those to be constructed, and whereas, the City Commission desires to put property owners on notice of the location of a street and highway across certain property where no street now exists, for the purpose of preserving the rights of all affected persons so as to preclude excessive damages and inconven- ience at such time as funds may be available for securing needed right-of-way, and whereas, the City Commission has determined substantially the location of the pro- posed right-of-way as hereinafter described, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C JD II, ISS I JIv OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: That the following described right-of-ways, together with the metes and bounds de- scription thereof, be spread upon the minutes of the Commission as the substantial location of proposed streets and highways in a Northeasterly and Northwesterly di- rection from the points set out in Sections 1, 2 and 3. Section 1. On the East side of a proposed street or highway beginning at 4th Street and Avenue Q and continuing North and Northeasterly and ending on the North City Limits in the vicinity of Paris Avenue and North 2nd Street, to -wit: Beginning at a point in tha North property line of 4th street 49.55 rest of the Southeast corner of Lot 13, Block 2, Garland Subdivision; TkMACE North par- allel to and 49.5' `::est of the East line of the fest one-half of Block 2, Garland Subdivision to the center line of 3rd Street; THENCE in a northeasterly directidn parallel to and 45' Easterly from the following described center line: Beginning at a point in the center line of 3rd Street 30' North and 94.5' West of the North- east corner of Lot 24, Block 2, Garland Subdivision; THENCE Northeasterly to the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 61, Norwood Subdivision, this point being in the North City Limits of the City of Lubbock. Section 2. On a proposed§treet or highway on the West side of the same street or highway described in Section 1, the building line being established as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of the North property line of 4th Street and the Test property line of Avenue Q; THENCE North along the ryest property line of Avenue Q to the Northeast corner of Lot 1, Dodson Subdivision of Block 3, Roberts and i'fc;,*+horter Addition; THENCE Northwesterly to the Southeast corner of Lot 15, Block 30, Helm Subdivision; THENCE North along the aest property line of Avenue Q to a point 201 North of the Southeast corner of Lot 9, said Block 30; THENCE East to a point in the East property line of -Avenue said point being in the ;gest line of Lot 22, Block 31, Easley Subdivision, 201 North of the Southwest ,%W corner of said Lot 22; THE LE East to the intersection of a line which is para- llel to and 45' Westerly from the center line of the proposed street or highway Alk. , as described in Section 1 above; THE14CE Northeasterly parallel to and 45' North- westerly from said center line to a point in the North City Limits at the inter- section of the South property line of North 2nd Street with this line, said point being 45' Northwesterly measured at right angles to the center line described in Section 1 above. Section 3. On a proposed street or highway which extends from the vicinity of the intersection of 3rd Street and Aver_ue � Northwesterly to the vicinity of the inter section of north Avenue U and North 2nd Street on the north City Limits line, said building line being 45' from and parallel to on each side of the following describe center line, to -wit: Beginning at a point 67.5' North and 75.61 +fest of the Southeast corner of Lot 16, Block 31, Easley Subdivision; THENCE in a Northwesterly direction at an angle of 44° 441 to the left from the East property line of Avenue Q to the inter- section of the center line of Avenue S at a point 165' North of the center line of 2nd Street; THENCE continuing in a Northwesterly direction at an angle of 510 22' to the left measured from the center line of Avenue S to the intersection of the North City.Limits of Lubbock, Texas, on the South property line of North 2nd street said point being 50' gest of the Northeast corner of Block 100, Roberts and McWhor- ter Addition. It is not the purpose or intention of the City Commission in passing this resolu- tion to in any manner, by implication or otherwise, establish any building line or open any street or highway, or to in any way interfere with the whole use of any affected property, this resolution being passed solely for the purpose of put- ting affected property owners on notice of a proposed highway and street, all of which proposal is subject to a bond issue now under consideration. Upon motion made by Commissioner Childress , and seconded by Commissioner Price this resolution was unanimously passed by the City Commission this 25 day of CctobeT , 1945.
