HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 071447A - Lease - United States - Radio Range Site - 07/14/1947RESOLUTION +JI-iEREAS, the City of Lubbock and the United States Govern- ment on April 14, 1941, entered into a certain lease bearing No. Tf 911-eng-540; and, WHEREAS, a portion of lands described in said lease was used by the Government as a radio range; and, WHEREAS, on the 9th day of April, 1947, the above mentioned tract of land used as radio range was deleted from the above mentioned lease; and, WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Government needs and requests a new lease on said radio range site; and, `+'WHEREAS, at a regularly held meeting of the Council of the City of Lubbock, Texas, which said meeting was held on the 14 day of Jul y , 1947, motion was duly made by Childress that the City of Lubbock execute a new lease to the Government covering said radio range site, and that the mayor of the city be authorized to subscribe the name of the city to said lease and have his signature attested by the City Secretary; and, WHEREAS, the motion was duly presented and unanimously passed by the assembled body; NCW `i'HEREr ORE , the Iiayor of the City of Lubbock be and he is hereby authorized to execute said lease to the United States providing for the lease of the land described therein for use as a radio range site, and according to the terms of said lease, and the City Secretary is 'M hereby authorized to attest the signature of the 'iayor to said agreement; and, MREUPOPI, W.B.
