HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 120347A - Equipment Orders Confirmed For Steam Turbine Generator In Electric Power Plant - 12/03/1947A RESOLUTIGN WHEREAS, on September 11, 1947, bids were opened and read for equipment required to install a 7,500 Kilowatt Steam Turbine Generator in the Electric Power Plant, and, subsequently, on September 25, 1947, the pity Manager made definite recommendations regarding the purchase of various items of equipment, and on October 9, 1947, the City Commission approved the recommendations of the City Manager and authorized that purchase orders be issued contingent upon the passage of a Bond Election which would provide the funds required to pay for the equipment, AND WHEREAS, on December 2, 1947, electric system revenue bonds were approved by the voters and firm orders may now be executed for generating plant equipment, NUil, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, that: SECTION 1: The following equipment orders be confirmed; Union Iron Works Steam Boiler $121,465.00 Alliger & Sears Turbine, Generator and Exciter 259,630.00 Allis Chalmers Mfg. Co. Condenser, Pumps & Auxiliaries 64,939.00 Allis Chalmers Mfg. Co. Boiler feed pumps 12,478.00 Lilie-Hoffman Company, Inc. Cooling Towers 44,760.00 General Electric Company Switchboard and Switchgear Z7,220.00 Bailey Meter Company Boiler Meters and Controls 10,362.00 Elgin Company Water Softener Equipment 7,147-00 SECTION 2: II That the companies be notified of the passage of the bond u election and of the fact that the orders are now confirmed. SECTION 3: That the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized to sign the necessary contracts with the various companies for the particular equipment listed herein. SECTION 4: That sufficient funds are hereby appropriated out of Bonds approved by the votei,s on December 2, 1947, to pay for generating plant equipment covered by the orders listed herein.
