OF HEARING, AND DIRECTING THE CITY

;WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock has heretofore ordered that the hereinbelow mentioned
portions of streets, avenues and/or alleys be improved by raising, grading and fill-
ing and paving, and by installing concrete curbs and gutters and storm sewers and
drains where necessary on Units Nos. 535, 536, 537, 538, 539, 540, 541, 542, 543,
544, 545, 546, 547, 548, 549, 550, 551, 552, 553, 554, 555, 556, 557, 558, 559, 560,
561, 562, 563, 564, 565, 566, 567, 568, 569, 570, 571, 572, 573, 574, 575, 576, 577,
578, 579, 580, 581, 582, 583, 584, 585, 586, 587, 588, 589, 590, 591, 592, 593, 594,
595, 596, 597, 598, 599, 600, 601, 602, 603, 604, 605, 606, 607, 608, 609, 610, 611,
612, 613, 614, 615, 616, 618, 621, 622, 623, 625,626, as designated below, and,
WHEREAS, arrangements for the making and construction of said improvements have been
made and entered into by the City of Lubbock as Contractor, and the City Engineer
has made and prepared and filed with the City his estimates, rolls, or statements
showing the amounts to be assessed against parcels of abutting property and the
owners thereof, and showing other matters and things, and said statements have been
examined and corrections made where necessary;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK, TEXAS; THAT,
I.
Said estimates, rolls or statements be and the same are hereby adopted and approved.
Ii.
That a hearing be given and held by and before the City Commission of Lubbock to
the owners of property abutting upon said streets and alleys to be improved, and to
all others in any wise interested or affected, concerning said improvements, the
amounts of the proposed assessments against abutting property and the owners thereof;
concerning the apportionment of the cost of said improvements and the descriptions
of property, names of owners, regularity of proceedings, and concerning all other
matters and things in connection with which anyone is entitled to be heard under the
law and Charter with amendments in force in said City, and the proceedings of the
City with reference to said improvements.
The portions of streets and alleys to be improved and in connection with which such
rolls or statements are adopted being set forth in the form of notice herein below
prescribed.
Said hearing shall be held in the regular Commission meeting room of the City Hall I
in the City of Lubbock, Texas, on the 23 day of January _, 1947,E
at 2 o'clock P .Y, and may be continued from time to time until the purposes there-
of are in the opinion of the Commission fully accomplished and such hearing shall in
all respects be conducted in accordance with said charter with amendments, law and
proceedings.
IV.
The City Secretary is directed to give notice of the time, place and purpose of such
hearing by causing notice in substantially the form hereinbelow prescribed to be pub
lished at least three times prior to the date of said hearing in a newspaper publish
ed in and of general circulation in the City, of Lubbock, Texas, the first of which
publications shall be at least ten days before the date of such hearing, and the for.
of which notice shall be substantially as follows:

proved by raising grading and filling and paving and by installing concrete curbs

And arrangement for the making and construction of such improvements with pavement
of quadruple course asphalt surface treatment (Inverted Penetration Type) on a Six
(6) inch compacted caliche base has been made and entered into by the City of Lubbock
Texas, and rolls or statements showing the proposed amounts to be assessed against
abutting property and the owners thereof have been filed with the City, such rolls
or statements showing other matters and things, and have been approved, and the City
Commission of said City has fixed a time and place for hearing to the owners of
property abutting upon said portions of streets, avenues and/or alleys, and to all
others affected, at which hearing the amounts to be assessed against the respective
parcels of abutting property and the owners thereof for improvements in the units
upon which the particular parcels of property abut, the amounts of benefits to the
respective parcels of property I�y means of the improvements in the unit upon which
the particular property abuts, the regularity of the proceedings with reference to
such improvements, the appor`lionment of the cost of such improvements, and other
matters and things will be determined, and after such hearing assessments will by
ordinance be made and levied, and such hearing will be had and held by and before
the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, Texas, in regular Commission meeting
room in the City Hail, in the City of Lubbock, Texas, on the 23 day of
Tan un r X _, 1947, at 2 P.M. otclock. The rolls or statements
shoring the proposed amounts of such assessments are on file in the office of the
City Secretary and copies thereof are in the office of the City Engineer of the City
of Lubbock and open to inspection of any interested parties at any time, and of all
said matters and things all such owners of property, as well as any and others in
any wise affected or interested, will take due notice.
By Order of the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, this day of
1947.

No notice other than that hereinabove provided for shall be necessary, but publica-
tion of such notice shall be due and sufficient notice to any and all persons, firme
corporations and other parties.
This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after passage.
