HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 080348A - Land Lease - Lubbock Chamber Of Commerce - Block 87, Old Town Of Lubbock - 08/03/1948RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock, Texas, a municipal corporation duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Texas, is greatly in need of more space in the City Hall for various departments of the City, particularly the City Attorney's offices and the Health Department; and, WHEREAS, space was provided in the City Hall for the Lubbock Camber of Commerce, Inc., the Pahhandle South Plains Fair Association, Inc.' and the Lubbock Retail Merchants' Association, Inc. when it was originally constructed and has been occupied ever since construction and is now occupied by these and other allied and similar community building, protective and service organizations; and, WHEREAS, the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, Inc. has agreed to construct a building of its own at its own sole cost and responsibility on the North 65' of the East one-half of Block 87, Old Town of Lubbock, Lubbock County, and vacate the offices now occupied in the City Hall and leave in place all par- titions and improvements of a permanent nature belonging to the above named organizations, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION that the City of Lubbock grant, and by this action does grant and lease, to the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, Inc. the North 65' of the East one-half of Block 87, Old Town of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, upon the terms and conditions set out in lease contract, a copy of which is hereto attached and made a part hereof, approved this day 4y the City Commission, and the Mayor of Lubbock is hereby authorized to sign for and in behalf of the City said lease. AND IT IS SO ORDERED On Motion by -Commissioner E. K. Hufstedler, Jr., seconded by Commissioner W. B.
