Fanning - Multiple Paving Units - 06/10/1948A RESOLUTION AWARDING PAVING CONTRACT WHEREAS.. sealed competitive bids have been called for in compliance with the Charter of the City of Lubbock, involving the construction of 31037 square i yards of Quadruple Asphalt Surface Treatment according to specifications governing the construction of this proposed work on file in the City Engineer's office, said specifications being designated as the JB.Fanning Contract, dated April 22, 1948s and the above stated quantity of materials is needed to pave the streets herein- after designated by unit number, and said bids covering all material, labor and supervision necessary and incidental to complete the paving herein specified according to said specifications above identified, have been submitted; and, WHEREAS, this improvement is to be paid for out of current funds of the -City of Lubbock, including the street improvement fund, and after tabulating the bids the Commission finds that J. R. Fanning, Lubbock, Texas is the lowest responsible bidder, according to bids this day tabulated; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT, the contract to lay and construct the paving on Units No. -639 to 642 inclusive, 646 -to 649 inclusive, 672 and 673, 669 and 670, 658 to 663 inclusive, under Ordinance No. 812, and Unit No, 597 under Ordinance No. 802, and to include the paving of previous leaveouts at the following locations, to—wit; 9th Street, i at Avenue "M", Avenue "V" at 24th Street, Texas Avenue in the 1900 blocks BE, and the same is hereby awarded to J. R. Fanning, Lubbock, Texas for the unit price per square yard of 5577 ,! _cents, totalling DOLLARS, subject to full compliance by the Contractor with all conditions precedent, -as specified in said Fanning Contract, relating to execution of the contract, the bond, insurance, etc., and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of the City of Lubbock. On motion by Commissioner Huf ste dle r , seconded by Commissioner Sri n , the foregoing resolution was duly passed, and award made, by unanimous vote of the City Commission this the 10th day of June, 1948.
