RESOLUTION'
WHEREAS, on. March 28, 1949 the City Commission authorized the Mayor
to execute a Contract of ;Sale, Lease Agreement,a d Escrow Agreement
between the City and Oscar C. and Corinne Palmer, also Warranty Deed
to `approximately ten (10) acres of land out of what was formerly known
as the South Plains Army Air Field as shown in Minute Book S. Page 441
arid.,
WHEREAS, the Minutes do not contain a metes and bounds description
of the ten (10 ) acre �; tract of land, the s ale of which was authorized
for the sum of Seven Hundred Fifty ($700.00) Dollars, and Mayor W. H.
Rodgers has pursuant to such authority executed the conveyance for the
consideration authorized and .under the terms agreed upon by the City
Commission which now desires to amend said Minutes and ratify and
confirm the same and the conveyance executed by the Mayor, said con-
veyance correctly' describing the land by metes and bounds and being th
same land intended by the Commission to be conveyed and referred to
in said Minutes, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
That the Minutes in Book 8, Page 441 relating to the sale.above re-
ferred to be and the same are hereby amended to include the metes and
bounds description of the ten (10) acre tract of land therein referred
to and authorized by the City Commission to be conveyed to Oscar C.
and Corinne Pqllmer for the cash consideration of Seven Hundred Fifty
($750.00) Dollars, said description being as follows, to -wit, all
that certain tract and parcel of land situated in Lubbock County,
Texas, being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follow
BEGINNING at a point in the South perimeter fence of
the South Plains Army Air Field, said point being 50
feet North and 1702,5 feet East of the S.W. corner of
Section 2, Block D-3, Lubbock jCounty, Texas.
THENCE East along said South perimeter fence 50 feet
from and parallel to the South line of said Section 2,
a distance of 1168-:53 feet to a point; THENCE North
a distance of 352.65 feet to a point; said point being
on an East-West line along the North edge of a loading
dock for warehouses included in this tract; THENCE West
along the North edge of said docks, a distance of 1278.53
feet to a point in the East property line of Avenue H
(as said Avenue is described and located on the South
Plains Army Air Field plat dated May 6th, 1944, and
approved by H. 0, Bordelon,,Commanding Officer.), said
property line being 25 feet ;East of the center line of
said street; THENCE South along the said East property
line of said Avenue H. a distance of 214.65 feet to a
point; THEITCE East a distance of 110 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 138 feet to the point of be-
ginning and containing ten (10) acres more or less.
And the City Commission hereby ratifies and Confirms the conveyance
executed by Mayor W. H. 'Rodgers for and on behalf of the City of
Lubbock which said conveyance is now being held in escrow pending
final settlement.
