HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 092552C - Street Improvements - Warren And Purtell Inc - GWO 643 - 09/25/1952r. ell si RESOLUTION RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DJPROVEMENTS ON PORTIONS OF STREETS, AND/OR AVENUES AS LISTED BELOW AND ORDERING THE ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES IN EVIDENCE CF ASSESSMENTS LEVIED. WHEREAS, the City of Lubbock heretofore passed various street improvement ordinances and resolutions and entered into contract with Warren and Purtell, Inc. (G.W.O. 643) for the making and construction of street improvements on portions of numerous streets and/or avenues in said City including among others the following: North Elgin Avenue from its intersection with the North Property Line of Duke Street to its interseetign'with the South. Property Line of Emory Street, known and designated as Unit 1286-A. North Elgin Avenue from its intersection with the North Property Line of Emory Street to its intersection with the North Alley line between Erskine Street and Emory Street, known and designated as part of Unit 1286 -B. - Boston Avenue from its intersection with the North Property Line of 2nd Place to its intersection with the South Property Line of 2nd Street, known and designated as Unit 1287, 1st Place from its intersection with the West Property Line of Elgin Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Flint Avenue, known and designated as Unit 1290. lst Place from its intersection with the West Property Line of Flint Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Gary Avenue, known and designated as Unit 1292; Amherst Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of North Akron Avenue to its intersection with the West Line of Lot 5, Block 2, F. R.'Friends Addition and/or the West Line of Lot 201# Block 7, F. R. Friends Addition, known and designated as part of Unit 1302. North Elgin Avenue from its intersection with the South Property Line of Duke Street to its intersection with the North Property Line of Cornell Street, known and designated as Unit 1308,. 1st Place from its intersection with the West Property Line of Canton Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Detroit Avenue, known and desig as Unit 1309. Santa Fe Drive & 2nd Place from Santa Fe Drivets intersection with the South Property Line of 2nd Street to 2nd Placets intersection with the West Property Line of Boston Avenue, known and designated as Unit 1313. - Emory Street from its intersection with the East Property Line of North Detroit Avenue to its intersection with a line 16 feet West of the West Property Line of North Elgin Avenue, known and designated as Unit 1314. Duke Street from its intersection with the East Property Line of North Elgin Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of North Flint ,Avenue, known and designated as Unit 1315. 1st Street from its intersection with the West Property Line of Detroit Avenue to its intersection with the West Property Line of Elgin Avenue, known and designated as Unit 1324. AND WIC, the improvements upon the said portions of the abovementioned streets and avenues, have been inspected and found to have been constructed in accordance with terms of said contract (GWO 613). THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS: I. That the improvements on said portions of the abovementioned streets and avenues be, and the same are hereby accepted. II. That the Mayor and City Secretary be, and they are hereby instructed to execute and delivercertificates in evidence of the assessments levied against the parcels of property abutting upon the said portion of streets and avenues � listed above and against the owners,pf such property in accordance with law and in the manner provided in said contract'. and the proceedings with reference to said improvements and assessments where such assessments were levied, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to write a letter releasing money held in escrow to be paid the contractor for improvements where abutting property was not assessed. III. This resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 25TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1952. ATTEST• Murr 1 R.
