HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 082858D - Quit Claim - Utility Easement - Southside Addition - 08/28/1958 05 ' RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM a DEED OR DEEDS FOR AND ON BEHALF OFTHE CITY OF LUBBOCK TO A UTILITY EASEMENT RESERVED FOR SAID CITY WEST OF BLOCKS 5 AND 6, SOUTHSIDE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TE . WHEREAS, after the closing and relocation of Avenue J in the City of Lubbo k the City of Lubbock reserved a Utility Easement West of Blocks 5 and 6, South- side Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, said reservation beifig made in various Quit Claim Deeds from said City to property owners whose property abutted upon portions of Avenue J which were closed, vacated, and aband ne and; WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that as a result of relocation of utilities that said Utility Easement is no longer needed for' public purposes; NOW THEREFURE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock a Quit Claim Deed to abutting property owners to the Utility Easement West of Blocks 5 and 6, Southside Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, said Utility Easement being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: A 15 foot utility easement, previously reserved, in Blocks -. 5 and 6 of the Southside Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point which is 15 feet West of the original Southwest corner of Lot 8, Block 6, Southside Addition; THENCE North 15 feet West of and parallel to the original West line of Blocks 6 and 5, to a point which is 15 feet West of the original Northwest corner of Lot 14, .Block 5, South- side Addition; THENCE West 15 feet; THENCE South 30 feet West of and parallel to the original West Tine of Blocks 5 and 6, to a point which is 30 feet West p of the original Southwest corner of Lot 8, Block 6, South- side Addition; THENCE East 15 feet t o the PLACE OF BEGINNING. SECTION 2. THAT the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to attest the signature of the Mayor and affix the seal of the City of Lubbock thereto.
