HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution - 072860G - Land Acquisition - Coca Cola Bottling Co - Soash-White Industrial Addition - 07/28/1960111J�� RESOLUTION V WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has deemed it necessar in -order to make certain street improvements in connection with the public streets situated in the City of Lubbock and to the end that this purpose be accomplished, the necessity of which is hereby confirmed by the City Commissi of the City of Lubbock, it is found necessary that the fee simple title to th land hereinafter described be acquired by the City of Lubbock to effectuate the extending and widening of its public streets; and, WHEREAS, the Coca Cola Bottling Company of Lubbock County, Texas, owns or has some character interest in the land needed for the extending and widening of said public street, and the value and total damages to the owner for the f simple title to said land has been appraised in the amount of $>27,775.00 and the City Commission finds that said amount appears to be fair and equitable; NOW THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of Lubbock fo ►,z the purpose of widening and extending its public streets as a designated part r of its public street system which land is moreparticularly described as follo BEGINNING at a point in the North right of way line of U.S. Highway 84 (New Slaton Highway), said point being the most Southerly corner of Lot 2-A of the corrected plat of the Subdivision of Tract 2, Soash- White Industrial Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE North 70°14'10" West a distance of 433.6 feet to the point of curvature of a curve to the right, having a radius of 115.94 feet, tangent distance of 166.27 feet and an angle on intersection of 110°13'3011; THENCE along said curve to the right a"distance of 223.04 feet to a point of tangency, said point being in the Southeast right of way line of Avenue A South Drive; THENCE.North 39°59120" East along the Southeast right of way line of Avenue A South Drive a distance of 163.55 feet to a point, said point being 181.44 feet (measured along said Southeast right of way line) from the most Northerly corner of Lot 2-A of the corrected plat of the Subdivision of Tract 2, Soash-White Industrial Addition; THENCE Southeasterly along a curve to the left having a radius of 140 feet, angle of intersection of 41°39'08t1, and a tangent distance of 53.25 feet for an arc length distance of 101.77 feet. The beginning tangent of this curve bears South 7"50'02" East; THENCL along a curve to the right having a radius of 865 feet angle of intersection of 6°301001/, and a tangent distance of 49.11 feet for an arc length distance of 98.13 feet; THENCE South 42*59110f1 East for a distance of 307.14 feet to the point of curvature of a curve to the left having a radius of 565 feet, angle of intersection of 605010811, and a tangent distance'of 33.74 feet; THENCE along said curve to the left for an ac length distance of 67.41 feet to a point in the Southeast property line of Lot 2-A of the corrected plat of the Subdivision of Tract 2, Soash-White Industrial Addition; THENCE South 39°59120" West along the Southeast line of said Lot 2-A a distance, 37.81 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. The above described tract contains 2.09 acres, more or less. THAT the owners of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Department, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use and benefit of the City of Lubbock and State of Texas, and unless accepted forthwith the City Attorney is hereby authorized and instru ted to institute condemnation proceedings to acquire the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for highway purposes.
