WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore
determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on
Quirt Avenue in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open,
extend, straighten and widen said Quirt Avenue ; and,
WHEREAS, toyaccomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for
street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter
described; and,
WHEREAS, Ferdinan Trotter, and wife, Geneva Trotter, and the Security
Life and Accident Company and tenant, Mrs. Ann Ware.
own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simpl.
title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $8„205.00
and the Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in tb
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, to acquired by the City of Lubbock fo
the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening the public
street known and designated as Quirt Avenue 9
which land is more particularly described as follows: The West 30 ,feet of Lot
42, Block 2A, Morrow re -subdivision to the City of Lubbock including all improvement
thereon.
THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way,Dep
ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple
title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the u
and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City
Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro-
ceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to acquire the fee simple
title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
