.V R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore
determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on
•j quirt Avenue in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open,
extend, straighten and widen said Quirt Avenue ; and,
WHEREAS, to,accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for
street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter
descr}bed; and,
WHEREAS, W. H. Fruit and wife, Jewel Fruit and C. H. Hudson and wife
Mrs. Hudson and -John Montoya.
own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simpl
title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $6,000.00
and the Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in th
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, to acquired by the City of Lubbock fo
the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening the public
street known and designated as Quirt Avenue ,
which land is more particularly described as follows: All of Lot 1, Block 2A,
Morrow Re -subdivision, owner retaining all improvements to be removed ninety (90)
days from Marcy 11, 19.62.
THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way.Depa,t-
ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple i
title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use
and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City 4
Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro-
ceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to acquire the fee simple i
title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
Approved and passed by unanimous vote of the Commission this 8th day
of February , 19_b2 .
