WHEREAS, the City Commission of the,City of Lubbock has heretofore
t �' determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on
Quirt Avenue in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open,
1' extend, straighten and widen said Quirt Avenue ; and,
WHEREAS, to,accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for
street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter
described; and,
WHEREAS, E. C. McGaw and wife, Lucille McGaw and Paul Graham and Ramon
Estrada, Tenant in Possession.
own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simpl+
title to said land have been appraised in the amount of S 4242.00
and the.Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in th
City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, to acquired by the City of Lubbock fo
the purpose of opening, extendi:ig, straightening and widening the public
street known and designated as widening of street known as Quirt Avenue
which land is more particularly described ae .follows: A parcel of land out of
Lot 8, Block 2, McGaw Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County; Texas; more
fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of said Lot 8, Block 2, McGaw Addition;
THENCE East a distance of 30 feet along the North line of said Lot 8;
THENCE South parallel to and 30 feet East of the West line of said Lot 8., a distanc
of 150 feet to a point in theSouth line of Lot 8 and the North right of way line
of East 14th Street;
THENCE West along the South line of said Lot 8, a distance of 30 feet to a point,
said point being the Southwest corner of said Lot 8;
THENCE North along the West line of said Lot 8 and.the present East line of Quirt
Avenue a distance of 150 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way,Dep
ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple
title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the u
and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City
Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro-
ceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to.acquire tp,e fee simple
title to said,land as hereinabove described for street purpos4s.
