Buford Et Al - Section 1 Block E - 04/25/1963EI RESOLUT ION Wf ZrV& la WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on RgAt sot -h street in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend, straighten and widen said Fast 50th Street ; and, WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter described; and, 'AAEREAS, Roy V. Buford and wife, Helen N. Buford and Lubbock Snyingg a,nd Loan Association own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $ 898_00 and the Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening the public street known and designated as Fast 50th Street which land is more particularly described as follows. A parcel of land out of the NE 1/4 of Section is Block E, Lubbock County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as followsi BEGINNING at a point 255.0 feet East and 40.0 feet South of the NW corner of the NE 1/4 of Section 1, Block E, as said 1/2 section corner was established by Sylvan Sanders; (The point of beginning is 10.0 feet South and 75.0 feet East of the original NW corner of Tract 15, James Subdivision, an addition to the City of Lubbock) THENCE South a distance of 8.81 feet to a point; THENCE Northeasterly a distance of 50.03 feet to a point said point being 46.85 feet South of the North line of said Section 1, Block Ts; THENCE North a distance of 6.85 feet to a point; THENCE West a distance of 50.0 feet to the point of beginning. THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Depart- ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the feesimple title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro- ceedings for and on behalf of the City of 'Lubbock to icquire the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
