Beesinger Et Al - Suburban Homes Addition - 04/25/1963RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on East 50th Street in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend, straighten and widen said East 50th Street ; and, WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for street right of way -purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter described; and, WHEREAS, R. L. Beesinger and wife OYie Lavelle Beesinger, and First Federal Savings and Loan Association own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $ 3785.00 and the Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening the public street known and designated as East 50th Street which land is more particularly described as follows% I A parcel 'of°'land out of the SW 1/4 of Section 6, Block B, Lubbock County$ Texas) more fully'des- cribed by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point 660.0 feet East and 30.0 feet North of the Southwest corner of said Section 6, Block B; (said point of beginning is 10.0 feet North of the original Southwest corner of Block 41 Suburban Homes Addition to the City of Lubbock) THENCE North a dis- tance of 20,0 feet to a point; THENCE East a distance of 165.0 feet to a point; THENCE South a distance of 20.0 feet to a point; THENCE West a dis- tance of 165.0 feet to the point of beginning. THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Depart- ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the feesimple title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro- ceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to 4cquire the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
