Gray - James Subdivision Tract 8 - 04/25/1963R'E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on "" East 50th Street in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend, straighten and widen said East 50th Street ; and, WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter. described; and, i WHEREAS, Raymond L. Gray and wife, Minnie Ola Gray own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $1450.00 and the Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCKs THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening the public street known and designated as East 50th Street which land is more particularly described as follows's A parcel of land out of the NE 1/4 of flection 1, Block E, Lubbock County, Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as f ollowst BEGINNING at a point 1350.0 feet East and 30.0 feet South of the NW corner of the NE 1/4 of Section 1, Block E, as said 1/2 section corner was established by Sylvan Sanders; (said point of beginning is the original NW corner of Tract 8, James Subdivision, an addition to the City of Lubbock) - THENCE South a distance of 10.0 feet to a point; THENCE East a distance of 225.0 feet to a point; THENCE North a distance of 10.0 feet to a point; THENCE West a distance of 225.0 feet to the point of beginning. THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Depart— ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use i{ and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City I� Attorney is hereby authorised and instructed to insti ute condemnation pro— ceedings for and on behalf of the City of 'Lubbock to Acquire the fee simple title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes. Approved and passed by unanimous vote of the Commission this 25th day
