WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore
determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on
Fist 50th Street in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend,
straighten and widen said East 50th Street ; and,
WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for
street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter
y described; and,
WHEREAS, L. V. Richardson and wife, Vera V. Richardson
own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple
title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $ 310.00 and the
Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated
in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of
Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening
the public street known and designated as East 50th Street.

A parcel of land out of the SW 114 of Section 6, Block B, Lubbock County,
Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a point which is the SW corner of Lot 3, Block 4,
Bridwell Subdivision of the Suburban Homes Addition to the City
of Lubbock, as said Bridwell Subdivision appears in Volume 474,
Page 309, Lubbock County Deed Records;
THENCE North a distance of 5.0 feet to a pointl
THENCE East a distance of 140.0 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 5.0 feet to a point;
THENCE West a distance of 140.0 feet to the point of beginning.
THAT the'owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Right of Way Depart-
ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the feesimple
tithe and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for the use
and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City
Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro-
ceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to acquire the fee simple
title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
