R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Lubbock has heretofore
determined and now finds that due to increased vehicular traffic on
®~" East 50th Street in the City of Lubbock, it is necessary to open, extend,
straighten and widen said Fast 50th Street ; and,

WHEREAS, to accomplish this purpose, it is necessary to acquire for
ji street right of way purposes the fee simple title of the land hereafter
described; and,
WHEREAS, W. C. Wood and wife, Alta May (Dennis) Wood

own said land, and the value and total damages to the owner for the fee simple
i title to said land have been appraised in the amount of $1692.00 and the
!I Commission finds said amount to be fair and equitable; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:

I; THAT the fee simple title to the following described land situated
in the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, be acquired by the City of
Lubbock for the purpose of opening, extending, straightening and widening
the public street known and designated as East 50th Street
i! which land is more particularly described as followsd
A parcel of land out of the BE 1/4 of Section 6, Block B$ Lubbock County,
Texas, more fully described by metes and bounds as followst

BEGINNING at a point 1:343.0 feet East and 25.0 feet North of the SW
corner of the BE 1/4 of Section 6, Block B; (said point of beginning
is 23.0 feet East of the original % corner of Lot 2, Block 39 in
the Nelson Brown Addition to the City of Lubbock)
THENCE North a distance of 20.0 feet to a point;
THENCE East a distance of 282.0 feet to a point;
THENCE South a distance of 20.0 feet to a point;
THENCE West a distance of 282.0 feet to the point of beginning.

THAT the owner(s) of said land be offered, through the Rig�
htof Way Depart-
ment, the amount appraised as the value and total damages for the fee simple
title and acquisition of said land for the purposes herein stated, for .the use
and benefit of the City of Lubbock, and unless accepted forthwith the City
Attorney is hereby authorized and instructed to institute condemnation pro-
ceedings for and on behalf of the City of Lubbock to icquire the fee simple
title to said land as hereinabove described for street purposes.
