RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, it has been called to the attebtion of the City Council of the Citi
of Lubbock that there are certain lands owned by the Highway Department abutting
and adjacent to the North and South sides of Fourth Street immediately East of
Quirt Avenue as more particularly described hereinafter by metes and bounds,
located and situated within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has caused to be made an engineering study to
determine whether or not the said lands are needed for street right of way purpose
as a part of its public street system; and,
WHEREAS, it has been reported by competent engineering authority to the
City Council that the said lands will be needed for street right of way purposes an
the City Council finds that the land hereinafter described is needed by the City of
Lubbock; NOW THEREFORE;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
THAT the State Highway Department be and is hereby notified that insofar
as the City of Lubbock is concerned the following lands lying North and South of
Fourth Street immediately East of Quirt Avenue in the City of Lubbock are needed
as an integral part of its public street system. Said lands being described as
follows:
TRACT NO." 1
A tract of land out of the South half of the Southwest Quarter
(SW 1/4) of Section Two (2), Block A, in Lubbock County, and
being described as follows;
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Section 2, Block A, on
the highway centerline at Station 66 + 34;
THENCE North along the West line of Section 2 a distance of
100 feet;
THENCE East along a line 100 feet from and parallel to the
South line of Section 2, Block A, a distance of 466 feet:
THENCE South 870 08r East 200. 2 feet to a point 90 feet from
and at right angles to Highway Station 73 + 00;
THENCE South 840 172 East 301. 5 feet to a point 60 feet from
and at right angles to Highway centerline Station 76 + 00;
THENCE East along a line 60 feet from and parallel to the South
line of Section 2 a distance of 24 feet to the East property line;
THENCE South along the East property line a distance of 60 feet
to the highway centerline at Station 76 + 24;

990 feet to the point of beginning, containing 2.056 acres.
TRACT NO' 2:
A tract of land out of the North half of the Northwest Quarter
(NW 1/4) of Section Four (4), Block O, in Lubbock County,
Texas, and being described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of Section 4, Block O, on
the highway centerline at Station 66 + 34;
THENCE South along the West line of Section 4, a distance
of 100 feet;
THENCE East along a line 100 feet from and parallel to the
North line of Section 4, Block O, a distance of 466 feet;
THENCE North 87° 08L East a distance of 200. 2 feet to a point
90 feet from and at right angles to a highway Station 73 + 00;
THENCE North 840 17t East a distance of 304. 5 feet to a point
60 feet from and at right angles to highway Station 76 + 00;
THENCE East along a line 60 feet from and parallel to the
North line of Section 4, Block O a distance of 684 feet to the
East property line;
THENCE North along the East property line a distance of
60 feet to the highway centerline at Station 82 + 84;
THENCE West along the North line of Section 4, and the high-
way centerline a distance of 1650 feet to the point of beginning,
containing 2.965 acres.
Be it further resolved that all action previously taken by the City Council
concerning any part of the above described land is hereby rescinded, and the City
Secretary is hereby instructed to mail a certified copy of this Resolution to the
Texas Highway Department.
